The Montreal Alouettes are a professional Canadian football team based in Montreal, Quebec. Founded in 1946, the team has folded and been revived twice. The Alouettes compete in the East Division of the Canadian Football League (CFL) and are the current Grey Cup champions, defeating the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the 110th Grey Cup Game in 2023. Their home field is Percival Molson Memorial Stadium for the regular season and as of 2014 also home of their playoff games.

Harold Edward Patterson, nicknamed "Prince" Hal, was an American star college basketball player at the University of Kansas, and a professional Canadian football player with the Canadian Football League Montreal Alouettes and Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Patterson is a member of the Canadian Football Hall of Fame, and in 2006, was voted one of the CFL's Top 50 players (#13) of the league's modern era by Canadian sports network TSN.
Étienne Boulay is a former Canadian football safety. He most recently played for the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League, with whom he won the 100th Grey Cup championship. He previously played for the Montreal Alouettes from 2006 to 2011 where he won two more Grey Cup championships. He was drafted 16th overall by the Alouettes in the 2006 CFL Draft. He played college football for the New Hampshire Wildcats.
Éric Deslauriers is the Director of Football Operations for the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League (CFL). As a player, he played professionally as a Canadian football slotback who played his entire nine-year career with the Alouettes where he was part of two Grey Cup champion teams. He played college football at Eastern Michigan University.
Jacques Chapdelaine is a Canadian football coach and former professional slotback in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He most recently served as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL. He has also served as the offensive coordinator for four other CFL teams, the head coach of the Montreal Alouettes (2016-17), and the head coach for two Canadian university football teams. He has won three Grey Cup championships as an assistant coach and one Vanier Cup as the head coach of the Laval Rouge et Or. He played collegiately for the Simon Fraser Clan as a wide receiver and played between 1983 and 1989 for four different CFL teams.
Dahrran Diedrick was a Canadian professional football player who was a running back in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was a three-time Grey Cup champion, winning with the Edmonton Eskimos in 2005 and the Montreal Alouettes in 2009 and 2010. Diedrick played college football in the United States with the Nebraska Cornhuskers. He began his pro career in the National Football League (NFL) with the San Diego Chargers, Green Bay Packers, and Washington Redskins. He played for ten seasons in the CFL, primarily with the Alouettes.

The 15 losses are a team record, breaking the previous record of 14 set during the 1986 season when the team record was 4–14 and during the 1982 season when they finished 2–14.
The 2018 Montreal Alouettes season was the 52nd season for the team in the Canadian Football League and their 64th overall. The Alouettes improved upon their disappointing 3–15 record from 2017, but still failed to qualify for the playoffs for the fourth straight season, finishing with a 5–13 record.
Chris Ackie is a former professional Canadian football linebacker. Ackie spent the majority of his professional career playing for the Montreal Alouettes Canadian Football League (CFL). He played CIS football for the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks from 2011 to 2014. He was drafted fourth overall by the Montreal Alouettes in the 2015 CFL Draft. Ackie was also a member of the New York Giants, Ottawa Redblacks and Toronto Argonauts.

The Alouettes finished with a 10–8 record and qualified for the playoffs for the first time since 2014 following a week 17 win over the Calgary Stampeders on October 5, 2019. The club hosted a playoff game for the first time since 2014, having finished in second place in the East Division. However, they lost the game to the Edmonton Eskimos by a score of 37–29.

The 2022 Montreal Alouettes season was the 55th season for the team in the Canadian Football League and their 67th overall. The Alouettes finished second in their division, an improvement on their third place finish in 2021 and qualified for the playoffs for the third consecutive season following the team's week 19 victory over the Ottawa Redblacks. However, after defeating the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the East Semi-Final, the team lost to the Toronto Argonauts in the East Final. The Alouettes held their training camp in Trois-Rivières at Stade Diablos.
