Reemo were an Irish rock band who had two hit singles in Ireland in 2007.

History

Formed in Dublin in 2004 by Steven Connolly and David Reardon, the band expanded to include guitarist Paul McGlue, Conleth Dunne, and Steven's brother Alan Connolly. [1] Later based in Sallins, County Kildare, Reardon left the band and Reemo won the 'Best International Band' award at the New York International Music Festival in November 2004. [1] In 2005 they toured with The Revs and released the Music Box EP. [1]

Their first single "Who you Are"/"Line" reached number 35 on the IRMA Chart, while second single "Rushin Man" spent five weeks on the chart, peaking at number 33. [2] [3]

Italian keyboard player/guitarist Igor Biasini joined in 2008. [4] [5] Debut album Colours was released in 2009. [6] to both critical acclaim and criticism. Working with producers on the album such as Martin Quinn of JAM Studios (Turn, Koda Kid, Audio Fires) and Marc Carolan of Suite studios (Muse, Snow Patrol, the Cure) the album was described as “a mature energetic collection, that bristles with fun, whilst encapsulating the trials and tribulations of life. It captures the mind and gives us a new view on the rock genre with melodic songs driven by dance beats and memorable hooks that stick in your head.”

Sinéad Gleeson, reviewing the album for the Irish Times , called it "jaded and dated" [7] However the majority of critics received the album quite highly. Singles, "Chocolate Covered Gorgeous, "Sometimes", and "Cuba part 1 - The story so far" preceded the album. [2] ‘Chocolate Covered Gorgeous’, was championed by cool rock radio Phantom, and received extensive airplay, and the band clocked up a number of memorable live shows.

Hidden Things is an album by Australian folk rock group Paul Kelly & the Messengers released in March 1992 on Mushroom Records, which reached No. 29 on the ARIA Albums Chart. It also reached the Top 40 on the New Zealand Albums Chart. It is a collection of tracks recorded by Kelly and both his backing bands, the Coloured Girls and the Messengers, from 1986 to 1991, but were not issued on previous studio albums. The album spawned a single, "When I First Met Your Ma", which was issued in April. Messenger band members provide lead vocals on "Hard Times" from its writer Steve Connolly, "Rock 'n' Soul" from its writer Jon Schofield. "Sweet Guy Waltz" is a slower version of "Sweet Guy" which was on 1989's So Much Water So Close to Home. The album was re-released in 2011 as Hidden Things: B-sides & Rarities.

Kix (band) American glam metal band

Kix is an American glam metal and hard rock band that achieved popularity during the 1980s. Led by frontman Steve Whiteman and bassist Donnie Purnell, the band's classic line-up was rounded out by drummer Jimmy "Chocolate" Chalfant and guitarists Ronnie "10/10" Younkins and Brian "Damage" Forsythe. Kix covered AC/DC, Aerosmith, April Wine, Led Zeppelin, and others before signing with Atlantic Records in 1981.
