Thomas Alsgaard is a Norwegian former professional cross-country skier. Alsgaard is regarded by many as the best performer of the freestyle technique (skating) in cross-country skiing and many of today's best skiers have studied his technique. In total, Alsgaard won 15 medals in the Winter Olympics and FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, making him one of the most successful skiers of all time.
Bjørn Erlend Dæhlie is a Norwegian businessman and retired cross-country skier. In the years from 1992 to 1999, Dæhlie won the Nordic World Cup six times, finishing second in 1994 and 1998. Dæhlie won a total of 29 medals in the Olympics and World Championships in the period between 1991 and 1999, making Dæhlie the most successful male cross-country skier in history.
The 1984 Winter Olympics, officially known as the XIV Olympic Winter Games, was a winter multi-sport event held in Sarajevo, Yugoslavia, from 8 to 19 February 1984. Håkon Brusveen is a retired Norwegian cross-country skier. In 1958 he was awarded the Holmenkollen medal.
Maurilio De Zolt is an Italian cross-country skier who competed internationally from 1977 to 1997. His best known victory was part of the 4 × 10 km relay team that upset Norway at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, when he was 43 years old. He also won two silver medals in the Winter Olympics at 50 km.
Lennart "Lill-Järven" Larsson is a retired Swedish cross-country skier and coach. He competed in the 4 × 10 km relay at the 1956 and 1960 Olympics and won a bronze medal in 1956, finishing fourth in 1960; in 1960 he also placed fourth and fifth in the individual 30 and 50 km events. Larsson won the 4 × 10 km relay at the 1958 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti.
John Halvar Theofron Lindgren was a Swedish cross-country skier who won the 1927 world titles in the 18 km and 50 km events. He finished eighth in the 50 km race at the 1932 Winter Olympics. His younger brother Ivan was also an Olympic cross-country skier.

The women's 10 kilometre freestyle pursuit cross-country skiing competition at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway, was held on 17 February at Birkebeineren Ski Stadium in Lillehammer. The Italian Stefania Belmondo was the 1993 World champion and Russian Lyubov Yegorova was the defending champion from the 1992 Olympics in Albertville, France.
