The Regina Rifles are a Junior B box lacrosse team based in Regina, Saskatchewan, playing in the top league in Saskatchewan, the Prairie Gold Lacrosse League. The expansion team entered the Saskatchewan Major Box Lacrosse League (later became PGLL) in 2010.
The Rifles joined the Regina Riot as the second Junior B team from Regina. The Rifles are operated and managed by the Queen City Minor Box Lacrosse Association in Regina. Their home arena is the Co-operators Centre.
The Rifles won their first-ever game in the Prairie Gold Lacrosse League, 11-5 over the Assiniboia Attack. The first goal scored by a Rifles player was in exhibition play by Brett Kealey. The first hat trick by a Rifle player was scored by Taylor Frei, who went on to win the team goal-scoring title and the PGLL league goal scoring title during the Rifles inaugural season. The Rifles surprised the league by finishing with a .500 season and tied for fifth overall in the standings.

The Saskatoon Blades are a Canadian major junior ice hockey team based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Founded in 1964, the Blades were a charter team of the then-Western Canada Hockey League, and are the only club that has played every season in the league in its original location. Today, the team plays in the East Division of the Western Hockey League's Eastern Conference, and hosts games at the SaskTel Centre. Despite five appearances in the championship series, the Blades have never won a league title.
Douglas Wagner Bentley was a Canadian ice hockey left winger who played 13 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Chicago Black Hawks and New York Rangers as part of a senior and professional career that lasted from 1933 to 1962. He was named to four NHL All-Star teams in his career and was the scoring leader in points and goals in 1942–43 and again in goals in 1943–44.

The Saskatoon Hilltops are a junior Canadian football team based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The Hilltops play in the six-team Prairie Football Conference, which is part of the Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL) and compete annually for the Canadian Bowl. The team was founded in 1921 as a senior team in the Saskatchewan Rugby Football Union, which it played in until 1936. Two years after WWII the team reorganized in 1947. Beginning in 1953, the Hilltops have won 23 Canadian Bowl championships. The Hilltops won six consecutive Canadian Bowls between 2014 and 2019.
The Winnipeg Falcons were a senior men's amateur ice hockey team based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The Winnipeg Falcons won the 1920 Allan Cup. That team went on to represent Canada in the 1920 Olympic games held in Antwerp, Belgium. There the Falcons, soundly beating all their opponents, won for Canada the first Olympic gold medal in ice hockey.
The Swift Current Rampage were a Junior box lacrosse team based out of Swift Current, Saskatchewan, playing in the top league in Saskatchewan, the Prairie Gold Lacrosse League. They joined the Saskatchewan Major Box Lacrosse League as an expansion franchise in 2003 and use the Credit Union iPlex as their home arena. The team folded in 2009 and were replaced by the Swift Current Wolverines in 2019
The Prairie Gold Lacrosse League, formally known as the Saskatchewan Major Box Lacrosse League (2001–2003), is a Junior B box lacrosse league in Saskatchewan, Canada.
Sports in Saskatchewan consist of a wide variety of team and individual games, and include summer, winter, indoor, and outdoor games. Saskatchewan's cold winter climate has ensured the popularity of sports including its official sport, curling, as well as ice hockey, ice skating, and cross-country skiing. The province also has warm summers and popular summer sports include baseball, football, soccer, basketball, track and field, rodeo, horse-racing, and golf.
Jeff Shattler is an Iroquois professional box lacrosse player who currently plays with the Saskatchewan Rush of the National Lacrosse League (NLL). He has Ojibwe and Inuit roots and has competed internationally with the Iroquois Nationals, including with the World Indoor Lacrosse Championship silver medal winning teams in 2011 and 2015. He was the 2011 NLL Most Valuable Player, 2011 NLL Transition Player of the Year, and the 2018 NLL Cup Most Valuable Player.
The Yorkton Bulldogs are a Junior B box lacrosse team based out of Yorkton, Saskatchewan. They are a member of the Prairie Gold Lacrosse League.
The Kinistino Jr. Tigers were a team in the North Saskatchewan Junior B Hockey League (NSJHL) from 1970–1997. Originally called the Kinistino Tiger-Bruins, the team was renamed to the Tigers following the 1983–1984 season. The Tigers played out of the Kinistino Sports Complex in Kinistino, Saskatchewan for the duration of the team's existence. The team folded after the 1996–1997 season due to the inability to attract young players to play in the small town.
Robert John McLeod was a Canadian ice hockey player and coach. He played professionally for the New York Rangers for parts of six seasons from 1949 to 1954, and played eight seasons of senior hockey between 1953 and 1965, where he competed at multiple Ice Hockey World Championships, winning the gold medal in 1961. He served as head coach of the Canada men's national ice hockey team from 1966 to 1969, leading them to two bronze medals at the World Championships and a bronze medal at the 1968 Winter Olympics. He later coached the Saskatoon Blades in the Western Canada Hockey League from 1971 to 1979, and coached the Canada men's national junior team to a silver medal at the 1975 World Junior Championships. He was inducted into the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame in 1984, and inducted as a player into the IIHF Hall of Fame in 1999.
Ice hockey is among the most popular sports in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan, and the province has been notable for producing a large number of hockey figures in both men's and women's hockey. Saskatchewan does not currently have a professional hockey team of its own, but it is home to a large number of junior and senior hockey teams. The Western Women's Canadian Football League (WWCFL) is a full-contact women's Canadian football league which began play in the spring of 2011. The league plays an annual season in the spring and summer, and with seven teams it is the largest women's football league in Canada. The teams play 12-woman tackle football games using the Football Canada rules, similar to those of the Canadian Football League. The league has teams in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta.
The Saskatoon Valkyries are a women's football team in the Western Women's Canadian Football League's (WWCFL) Prairie Conference. The team is based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. They are the most successful WWCFL team, winning eight of the leagues eleven championships since play began in 2011, including the first four. Their primary rivals are the Regina Riot, the only other WWCFL team to win the championship.
The Regina Riot are a women's football team in the Western Women's Canadian Football League's (WWCFL) Prairie Conference. The team is based in Regina, Saskatchewan. Their provincial rivals are the Saskatoon Valkyries. The Riot and Valkyries have dominated the WWCFL since play began in 2011 as the only two teams to win the league championship.
The Saskatchewan Rush is a Canadian professional box lacrosse team based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Formerly the Edmonton Rush, they are members of the Western Conference of the National Lacrosse League (NLL) and play their home games on Co-op Field at SaskTel Centre. The Rush have won the NLL championship twice since their move to Saskatchewan, in 2016 and in 2018.
Tanner Fetch is a former a Canadian professional box lacrosse goaltender for Panther City Lacrosse Club of the National Lacrosse League and a professional sports analyst for the NLL on Bleacher Report Live. He also provides analysis for international lacrosse events, notably the annual World Junior Lacrosse Championship. Fetch played goaltender for the Irish National Team at the European Box Lacrosse Championships in Turku, Finland.
Zach Gould is a Canadian professional box lacrosse player who currently plays with the Saskatchewan Rush of the National Lacrosse League (NLL). He was the first Saskatchewan-born player to sign a long term contract in the NLL.
