Lucha libre is the term used in Mexico for professional wrestling. Since its introduction to Mexico in the early 20th century, it has developed into a unique form of the genre, characterized by colorful masks, rapid sequences of holds and maneuvers, as well as "high-flying" maneuvers, some of which have been adopted in the United States, Japan, and elsewhere. The wearing of masks has developed special significance, and matches are sometimes contested in which the loser must permanently remove his mask, which is a wager with a high degree of weight attached. Tag team wrestling is especially prevalent in lucha libre, particularly matches with three-member teams, called trios.
Juan Manuel González Barrón is a Mexican luchador who is best known under the ring name Dr. Wagner Jr., having used that name since 1987. He is the son of Manuel González Rivera, better known as Dr. Wagner and the brother of the late César Cuauhtémoc González Barrón, who worked primarily under the name Silver King. His son made his lucha libre debut 2009 under the ring name El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. González was once married to professional wrestler María Moreno León, better known as Rossy Moreno.
DMT Azul is the best known ring name of a Mexican Luchador Enmascarado, or masked professional wrestler. He is currently signed to Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide. Azul is best known for his time in Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). He originally wrestled under the ring name El Romano but in 2009 he was given a new name and mask, Metro, a ring name that had been used by at least three other CMLL wrestlers before 2009. The "Metro" ring character was sponsored by the Mexico City Metro newspaper, incorporating the newspapers logo and color scheme in the mask and wrestling trunks. In early 2012 he was given a new image and ring name, dropping the sponsored ring name to become Diamante Azul instead. Diamante Azul is Spanish for "Blue Diamond".
El Hijo de L.A. Park is a Mexican Luchadorenmascarado, or masked professional wrestler. His ring name indicates he is the son of Adolfo Tapia, the original La Parka, who currently wrestles as L.A. Park. He currently wrestles in Mexico for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) and alongside his father in the American promotion Major League Wrestling, where he is one half of the World Tag Team Champions with L.A. Park. Originally he wrestled under the name "Black Spirit", keeping the family relation to L.A. Park secret. He has been using the El Hijo de L.A. Park name since 2011. His real name is not a matter of public record, as is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico, where their private lives are kept a secret from the wrestling fans.
Dulce Maria García Rivas is a Mexican luchadoraenmascarada, or masked female professional wrestler, mixed martial artist and professional boxer who is better known by the ring name Sexy Star. She is best known for her work in Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA), where she is a three-time AAA Reina de Reinas Champion, while also being a former one-time AAA World Mixed Tag Team Champion. She previously wrestled under the name Dulce Poly and held both the FILL Women's Championship and the FILL Mixed Tag Team Championship under that name. She worked for Lucha Underground, where she was a former Lucha Underground Champion and Gift of the Gods Champion. She is the first woman to win the Lucha Underground Championship and, by extension, the first woman to hold a World Heavyweight Championship in a major wrestling promotion.
Fabiola Balbuena Torres is a Mexican Luchadora, or female professional wrestler currently signed to Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA) performing as Faby Apache.
Mariella Balbuena Torres is a Mexican Luchadora, or female professional wrestler best known under the ring name Mari Apache. She is the daughter of Luchador Gran Apache and the sister of luchadora Faby Apache. She has wrestled for an extended period of time in Japan but is best known for working in Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide along with her father and sister. She is a former one-time AAA Reina de Reinas Champion and a two-time AAA World Mixed Tag Team Champion, having held the title with her father and Halloween. Torres has previously wrestled under the ring name Princesa Apache as well as the enmascarada (masked) characters Love and Lady Venum.
Xóchitl Leyva Sánchez is a Mexican luchadora, or female professional wrestler best known under the ring name Tiffany. She has won the 2003, 2005, and 2008 Reina de Reinas tournaments and has held the Mexican National Women's Championship two times. After working for AAA for the majority of her career, she jumped to Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) in September 2010.
Ernestina Sugehit Salazar Martínez is a Mexican luchadora who is best known under the ring name Princesa Sugehit. He is the grandson of Dr. Wagner and the son of Dr. Wagner Jr. His mother is professional wrestler Rossy Moreno and he is part of both the Wagner and the Moreno wrestling families.
Isabel Ordóñez Martínez, better known under her ring name La Vaquerita is the ring name of a Mexican luchadora, or female professional wrestler currently working for the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) portraying a ruda wrestling character. La Vaquerita's real name was not a matter of public record until she lost her mask at the 2016 Infierno en el Ring show. She was the first holder of the Lucha POP Women's Championship and made her debut for CMLL in late 2012.
Multibronce is a Mexican luchador enmascarado, or masked professional wrestler from Pachuca, Hidalgo, Mexico. He previously worked for Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA) as Máscara de Bronce as a tecnico. Multibronce has also previously worked for the International Wrestling League (IWL). Prior to October 2016 he worked as the masked Gotita de Plata character, first in the Mini-Estrella and then in the regular sized division.
