Renato Sam-Na Nhaga (born 27 March 2007) is a Bissau-Guinean professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for the Primeira Liga side Casa Pia, and the Guinea-Bissau national team.
Born in Bissau, Nhaga moved to Portugal in 2022 and was originally banned from playing football for administrative reasons. In 2023, he joined the youth academy of Casa Pia. [2] On 31 July 2024, Nhaga signed his first professional contract with Casa Pia for 2 seasons. [3] He made his senior and professional debut with Casa Pia as a substitute in a 3–1 Primeira Liga loss to Estoril on 29 April 2025, becoming Casa Pia's youngest debutant ever in the league at 18 years 1 month and 2 days old. [4] On 2 July 2025, he extended his contract with Casa Pia until 2028. [5] On 6 July 2025, he was named "Athlete of the Year" at Casa Pia. [6]
In June 2025, Nhaga was called up to the Guinea-Bissau national team for a set of friendlies. [1]
