Republic is a Hungarian rock band formed in Budapest in 1990. Their style is a mix of Western rock music and traditional Hungarian folk music. The band is popular in its native country and among Hungarian speaking minorities in other parts of the world.
The two founding members are László Bódi and László Attila Nagy. The two played together for a band called Cipőfűző (Hungarian for shoelaces). From this name, László Bódi acquired the nickname "Cipő", i.e. shoe. Cipő died in March 2013 at the age of 47. The most recent change in the band's composition was in 1991 when the original lead guitarist Imre Bali retired and was replaced by Tamás Patai.
While not formal members of the band, András "Bundás" Szabó (violin) and Gábor Halász (acoustic guitar, vocals) perform with the band during their live shows.
On albums, Republic frequently refers to itself ironically as "the worst group in Hungary″. The logo of the band is a stylised fish which from a certain angle resembles a human figure.
László Bódi died on 11 March 2013 of heart failure. [1]

Nagy is a common Hungarian surname, meaning "big".
Hungary competed at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, USSR. 263 competitors, 182 men and 81 women, took part in 151 events in 21 sports.
Beatrice is a Hungarian rock band. It was founded in 1969 as a women's band, and played mostly cover songs. In 1971, Nagy Feró joined the band as a frontman. The Budapest-based act started up in 2000, and has released five full-length albums in English, as well as a 4 track EP and a bonus disc for their latest album with 4 new songs in Hungarian. Superbutt has toured all across Europe since 2001 and played over 600 concerts in 15 countries.
Ghymes is a band consisting of Hungarians living in Slovakia, founded at the University of Education in Nitra in 1984, by musicians with different preliminary musical experiences from classical through rock and Renaissance music. Folk elements have gradually clung together with their own individual musical ideas.
The Classical Conspiracy is the second live album by Dutch symphonic metal band Epica. The recorded live show took part in Miskolc, Hungary on 14 June 2008 in the framework of the Miskolc Opera Festival, where the Swedish symphonic metal band Therion had done a similar show a year before. Epica performed on stage with a 40-piece orchestra and a 30-piece choir, entirely composed of Hungarian musicians conducted by Zsolt Regos. The expanded ensemble played classical music, excerpts from operas and movie soundtracks, as well as Epica's songs. The album was released on 8 May 2009 through Nuclear Blast Records.
Locomotiv GT V. is the fifth studio album by Hungarian rock band Locomotiv GT. It is the band's first double album, which was released in 1976 and was the last LGT album with drummer József Laux and the last featuring lyricist Anna Adamis. The album was banned due to Laux' immigration to the United States, which was illegal at the time.
Zene – Mindenki másképp csinálja is the sixth studio album by Hungarian rock band Locomotiv GT, released in 1977. It was the first LGT album with new drummer János Solti and lyricist Dusán Sztevánovity.

Irigy Hónaljmirigy are a Hungarian comedy/parody band, known around Hungary for their parodies of popular songs from both the country and abroad, as well as celebrities and TV shows. They had their own TV show, Irigy Hónaljmirigy Show, which ran on TV2 from 2000 until 2010. On their demos and their first album, they mostly parodied Hungarian rock songs, from their second album and onwards they started parodying the popular music scene in general. Since 2004, the band's albums are released by Hungarian major record label CLS Music.
