Overview

Research.com was founded by Imed Bouchrika, PhD, a computer scientist and researcher, who serves as the platform's Chief Data Scientist. [6] [7] [8] It was initially launched in 2014 under the name Guide2Research. [9] [10]

The website mainly provides rankings of colleges and universities as well as researchers. [11] [12] [13] [14] [15] [16] [17] [18] [19] The website also provides career guides, educational advice, and information on scholarships. [20] [21]

In 2022, the platform rebranded from Guide2Research to Research.com. [22]

Research.com uses publicly available data from sources like Google Scholar, OpenAlex, and IPEDS to compile its rankings. [23] [24]
