Metal Health is the third studio album by American heavy metal band Quiet Riot. It was released on March 11, 1983, bolstered by the No. 5 hit "Cum On Feel the Noize" and the No. 31 hit "Metal Health". Metal Health is notable for being the first heavy metal album to reach the top spot on the Billboard 200, replacing the Police's Synchronicity at number one in November 1983. The album went on to sell more than ten million copies worldwide and is considered a classic among heavy metal fans. Some critics, such as AllMusic, describe it as a one-hit wonder, owing to Quiet Riot's relative lack of critical and commercial success with following albums towards the end of the 1980s. The title track was ranked No. 35 on VH1's 40 Greatest Metal Songs.

Metal Rendez-vous is the fourth studio album by the Swiss hard rock band Krokus, released in June 1980. It is the first Krokus release to feature vocalist Marc Storace; Chris von Rohr had formerly served as the band's lead vocalist but appears on Metal Rendez-vous as the band's bassist. The track "Heatstrokes" charted number one in the British Heavy Metal Charts, and arguably opened up markets for Krokus in Britain and the United States, along with "Bedside Radio" and "Tokyo Nights". Strangely, the song "Tokyo Nights" features a reggae beat halfway through. The album sold more than 150,000 copies in Switzerland and was certified Triple Platinum.

D'Molls, originally known as The Chicago Molls, were a band featuring lead vocalist/guitarist Desi Rexx, bassist Lizzy Valentine, guitarist S.S. Priest, and drummer Jim Bashaw. In 1985, Billy Dior replaced Bashaw and the band relocated to Los Angeles to pursue a recording contract. Guitarist S.S. Priest was still under contract with his other band Diamond Rexx, and could not follow the band to Los Angeles. Priest was replaced by another guitarist, Sean Freehill. S.S. Priest would rejoin the band in 1986, after they signed a recording contract with Atlantic Records. The video for '777' received some airplay on MTV, but album sales failed to prosper. In 1990, the band released their second Atlantic lp, WARPED, which featured a much better production, but the singer quit before the promotion campaign got off the ground. The group disbanded shortly thereafter and did not release another album until 1996, when Delinquent Records featured the group’s third and final ambition, BEYOND D’VALLEY OF D’MOLLS, which featured three live tracks as well as previously unreleased studio recordings. There also exists a best of, compilation CD, THE BEST OF EVERYTHING, which came out in 2007. D’MOLLS mantain an up to date website at, dmolls.com.

It was produced by Howard Benson, who would later go on to produce for Motörhead, Sepultura, and Seether. It is the first album to feature new bassist Marion Idzi, going by the mononym Idzi. It is also the first album to feature Brian Jack on lead vocals, as previous vocalist Lawrence Hinshaw left the band in 1988, who only appeared on the band's 1986 EP, Ruff House. The band released three singles from the album, the title track which was the only song to have an MTV music video, "Wind", and "Capricorn/Bang Bang".
