Rhos Bwlch-y-rhandir is a Site of Special Scientific Interest situated on Bwlch y Rhandir farm in Llangwyryfon, Ceredigion, west Wales. It is one of the most northern homes of the St John's Wort in the UK, which makes this farm one of the most valuable to flora specialists in Wales. This is a diverse environment full of rare and protected fauna and flora, and is grazed partly by a herd of breeding cattle.

Tan-y-Bwlch beach near Aberystwyth, Wales, forms part of the Pen Dinas and Tan-y-Bwlch Local Nature Reserve (LNR). The majority of which is located in the village of Penparcau. The area was designated in 1999 following a public meeting which attracted more than 100 local people. The 100-acre (0.40 km2) site contains the Bronze Age burial mound and Iron Age Hillfort named Pen Dinas. The site is managed by Ceredigion County Council and is publicly owned, it is the largest Local nature reserve in the Dyfi Biosphere. The Wales Coastal Path runs along the top of the shingle beach. The beach is sometimes referred to as Penparcau Beach by locals in the area, the name is used on some mapping services.
Llanfair-y-bryn is a community and Church in Wales parish in Carmarthenshire, Wales. Covering an area of some 95 km², it lies along and to the northwest and southeast of the A483 Swansea to Chester road immediately north of the town of Llandovery. The population of the community at the 2011 census was 624. The term also referred to a church located outside the parish.

Sometimes referred to in literature as 'Bwlch y Gaseg' and in very close proximity to the area named as such on OS Map 1888-1913, the Cynwyd Forest Quarry is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) located aside a track within the Cynwyd Forest near Corwen, Denbighshire, North Wales. It was described by Rushton et al. (2000) and exposes Late Ordovician micaceous siltstones and mudstones of the Dolhir Formation which yields a rich shelly (brachiopod) fauna. Trilobites are represented by several genera although the fauna is dominated by Gravicalymene arcuata Price, 1982. Bivalves, bryozoans and various Echinodermata are also present. Examples of most of the fossils listed below are illustrated and briefly described in "Fossils of the Upper Ordovician" by Harper and Owen (Eds.).
