Rhynchodemini is a tribe of land planarians in the subfamily Rhynchodeminae. [1]
The tribe Rhynchodemini is defined as containing land planarians with an elongate, cylindroid form, two eyes near the anterior end and strong subepithelial musculature in which the longitudinal fibers are grouped into large bundles. The copulatory apparatus lacks a penis papilla or has it greatly reduced. [2]
The tribe Rhynchodemini contains six genera:
Geoplanidae is a family of flatworms known commonly as land planarians or land flatworms.
Platydemus is a genus of large predatory land planarians in the tribe Rhynchodemini.
Microplaninae is a subfamily of land planarians.
Geoplaninae is a subfamily of land planarians endemic to the Neotropical region.
Rhynchodeminae is a subfamily of land planarians with a worldwide distribution.
Caenoplanini is a tribe of land planarians in the subfamily Rhynchodeminae mostly found throughout the Australasian and Oceanian realms.
Robert Edward Ogren was an American zoologist.
Anzoplanini is a tribe of land planarians in the subfamily Rhynchodeminae.
Othelosoma is a genus of land planarians found in Africa and India.
Rhynchodemus is a genus of land planarians in the tribe Rhynchodemini.
Dolichoplana is a genus of land planarians in the tribe Rhynchodemini.
Cotyloplana is a genus of land planarians in the tribe Rhynchodemini.
Digonopyla is a monotypic genus of land planarians in the tribe Rhynchodemini. It contains a single species, Digonopyla harmeri.
Pelmatoplaninini is a tribe of land planarians in the subfamily Rhynchodeminae.
Novibipalium is a genus of land planarians of the subfamily Bipaliinae.
Diporodemus is a genus of land planarians found in the Americas.
Geobenazzia is a genus of land planarians that currently contains a single species, Geobenazzia tyrrhenica, found in Elba, Italy.
Incapora is a genus of land planarians in the subfamily Microplaninae.
Anisorhynchodemus is a genus of land planarians of the tribe Rhynchodemini. It was erected to include species lacking sufficient morphological information to allow them to be classified in the appropriate genus.
Pseudartiocotylus is a genus of land planarians that currently contains a single species, Pseudartiocotylus ceylonicus, found in Namunukula, Sri Lanka.
