Aalborg Municipality is a municipality in Region Nordjylland on the Jutland peninsula in northern Denmark. The municipality straddles the Limfjord, the waterway which connects the North Sea and the Kattegat east-to-west, and which separates the main body of the Jutland peninsula from the island of Vendsyssel-Thy north-to-south. It has a land area of 1,143.99 km2, population 197,426 (2010) and belongs to Region Nordjylland.
Until 1 January 2007 Bramming Municipality was a municipality in Ribe County on the west coast of the Jutland peninsula in southwest Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 170 km², and had a total population of 13,638 (2005). Its last mayor was Karl Kristian Knudtzen, a member of the Venstre political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Bramming.

By 1 January 2007, the old Esbjerg municipality was, as the result of Kommunalreformen, merged with the former Bramming and Ribe and a small part of Helle municipalities to form the new Esbjerg municipality. This municipality has an area of 741 km² and a total population of 114,244 (2008).

The municipality included the island of Jegindø, and it covered an area of 76 km2. It had a total population of 3,577 (2005). Its last mayor was Peter Gade, a member of the Conservative People's Party political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Hvidbjerg.
Until January 1, 2007 Sundsøre municipality was a municipality in the former Viborg County on the Salling Peninsula, a part of the larger Jutland peninsula in northwest Denmark. The municipality included the island of Fur, and covered an area of 171 km². It had a total population of 6,464 (2005). Its last mayor is Flemming Eskildsen, a member of the Venstre political party.
Until January 1, 2007 Nørre Aaby municipality was a municipality in the former Funen County on the north and west coasts of the island of Funen in southern Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 65 km², and had a total population of 5,626 (2006). Its last mayor was Hanne Christensen, a member of the Venstre political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Nørre Aaby. To the north are the waters of Båring Cove and beyond that the Kattegat. To the west are the waters of Fem's Cove and beyond that the Little Belt.
Marstal municipality, is a former municipality in Funen County on the island of Ærø in southern Denmark. Since 1 January 2006 it has been part of Ærø municipality. Its territory included the islands of Birkholm and Halmø, and covered an area of 17 km². In 2005, it had a total population of 3,208. Its last mayor was Karsten Landro, a member of the Conservative People's Party political party.
The Region of Southern Denmark is an administrative region of Denmark established on Monday 1 January 2007 as part of the 2007 Danish Municipal Reform, which abolished the traditional counties ("amter") and set up five larger regions. At the same time, smaller municipalities were merged into larger units, cutting the number of municipalities from 271 before 1 January 2007 to 98. The reform diminished the power of the regional level dramatically in favor of the local level and the central government in Copenhagen. The Region of Southern Denmark has 22 municipalities. The reform was implemented in Denmark on 1 January 2007, although the merger of the Funish municipalities of Ærøskøbing and Marstal, being a part of the reform, was given the go-ahead to be implemented on Sunday 1 January 2006, one year before the main reform. It borders Schleswig-Holstein (Germany) to the south and Central Denmark Region to the north and is connected to Region Zealand via the Great Belt Fixed Link.
Rømø is a Danish island in the Wadden Sea. Rømø is part of Tønder Municipality. The island had 650 inhabitants as of 1 January 2011, and covers an area of 129 km².
Mandø is one of the Danish Wadden Sea islands off the southwest coast of Jutland, Denmark in the Wadden Sea, part of the North Sea. The island covers an area of 7.63 square kilometres and had 40 inhabitants in January 2018. The island is part of Esbjerg Municipality and is situated approximately 12 kilometres southwest of the ancient town of Ribe.
Until January 1, 2007 Lunderskov Municipality was a municipality in Vejle County near the east coast of the Jutland peninsula in southeast Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 96 km2, and had a total population of 5,478 (2005). Its last mayor was Hans Peter Andersen, a member of the Venstre political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Lunderskov, located ca. halfway between the cities of Kolding and Vejen, just south of the Esbjerg Motorway.
Vesthimmerland Municipality or Vesthimmerlandøs Municipality is a municipality in the North Jutland Region in Denmark. It covers an area of 768,08 km² (2013) and has a total population of 38,277 inhabitants (2008). The Municipality borders Jammerbugt Municipality to the south and to the east it borders Rebild and Aalborg Municipality and to the south it borderes Viborg Municipality and to the south-east it borders Mariagerfjord Municipality.
The Danish Wadden Sea Islands are a group of islands on the western coast of Jutland, Denmark. They have belonged to the region of Southern Denmark since January 1, 2007. Previously they belonged to the counties of South Jutland and Ribe.
Esbjerg is a seaport town and seat of Esbjerg Municipality on the west coast of the Jutland peninsula in southwest Denmark. By road, it is 71 kilometres (44 mi) west of Kolding and 164 kilometres (102 mi) southwest of Aarhus. With an urban population of 72,044 it is the fifth-largest city in Denmark, and the largest in West Jutland.
Bramming is a railway town in Esbjerg Municipality, Region of Southern Denmark in Denmark. It is located at the Lunderskov-Esbjerg railway line and has a population of 7,132.
