Richard Levy Gallery, established in 1991 in downtown Albuquerque, New Mexico, [1] specializes in contemporary art. History

In the 1970s Richard Levy moved to Albuquerque to study the history of photography with Beaumont Newhall at the University of New Mexico. In 1991 Richard Levy Gallery opened as a print gallery by appointment only and began publishing waterless lithographs with Jeffrey Ryan under the name 21 Steps Editions. [31] Together they published works by James Casebere, Adam Henry, David Levinthal, Robert ParkeHarrison, Lorna Simpson, [32] and Richard Tuttle.

Willy Bo Richardson American artist

Willy Bo Richardson is an American artist from Santa Fe, New Mexico. Richardson is regarded as one of many contemporary painters revisiting late Modernism. Describing his paintings as “philosophy in motion,” Richardson paints vertical strokes of color. He exhibits his paintings internationally.

Neecy Twinem is an artist, toy designer and, author and illustrator of over 30 published children's books, with her illustrations also found on book covers, educational books, classroom readers, magazines, puzzles, posters, greeting cards, T-shirts, public murals and galleries. She recently developed and released a plush toy line, ZombieZoo, which has attracted national attention.

Emi Ozawa is a Japanese-born American visual artist, sculptor, and furniture designer. She is known for her woodworking that is also interactive sculpture, which she started creating in the early 1980s. Originally from Tokyo, Ozawa lives and works in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Betty Hahn is an American photographer known for working in alternative and early photographic processes. She completed both her BFA (1963) and MFA (1966) at Indiana University. Initially, Hahn worked in other two-dimensional art mediums before focusing on photography in graduate school. She is well-recognized due to her experimentation with experimental photographic methods which incorporate different forms of media. By transcending traditional concepts of photography, Hahn challenges the viewer not only to assess the content of the image, but also to contemplate the photographic object itself.

Founded in 2014 by Nancy Zastudil, Central Features Contemporary Art is a contemporary art gallery located in downtown Albuquerque, New Mexico. The gallery exhibits a range of visual media but its focus is on the importance of art-making and the roles artists play in environmental and social issues. The gallery participates in Albuquerque’s creative economy by partnering with local artists and businesses to present events and programs that highlight collaboration including an artist-led dinner with Dig & Serve, On the Map: Unfolding Albuquerque Art + Design, and PhotoSummer. Included in the Central Features exhibition program is Pacific Exhibits, a downtown Albuquerque window exhibition space dedicated to showcasing local artists.

Holly Roberts is an American visual artist known best for her combination of photography and paint. “Holly Roberts caused a stir in the fine art photography world of the eighties by fusing painting and photography, painting directly onto photographs”. Roberts lives and works in Corrales, New Mexico. Her work is in the permanent collection of several museums in the United States.

Christine McHorse, also known as Christine Nofchissey McHorse, was a Navajo ceramic artist from Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Matt Magee American contemporary artist

Matt Magee is an American contemporary artist who is best known for his minimal abstract geometric paintings, sculptures, prints, assemblages, murals and photographs. He was born in Paris, France in 1961 and moved from there to Tripoli, Libya and then to London. He moved to Brooklyn in 1984 to attend Pratt Institute for an MFA after completing a BA in Art History at Trinity University in San Antonio, TX. He maintained a studio on New York City until 2012 and currently lives in Phoenix, AZ.

John Nieto

John Nieto (1936–2018) was an American contemporary artist who concentrated on Native American themes including Native American tribal representatives as well as indigenous wildlife. He was a longtime resident of Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Nicola López (1975) is an American contemporary artist known for her drawings, prints, installations and collages.

Idalia Lechuga-Tena is a Mexican-born American politician who served as a member of the New Mexico House of Representatives for the 21st district from November 18, 2015 to January 2017.
