Richard Ross Jr. is an American law enforcement officer who served as the Commissioner of the Philadelphia Police Department from January 2016 to August 2019 at 51 years of age. Commissioner Ross was born and raised in Philadelphia. Before getting into law enforcement,Ross aspired to be a lawyer. [1] Ross became a successful Philadelphia Police Officer who climbed to the rank of Commissioner. Following allegations of sexual harassment and racial and gender discrimination within the police department,he announced his resignation on August 20,2019. Ross graduated from Central High School (Philadelphia) before going on to earn an undergraduate degree in Labor &Industrial Relations from Penn State University,and a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Saint Joseph’s University. [5]

He worked for the Ministry of the Interior of Bahrain as a police consultant. Timoney drew both international praise and criticism for his handling of mass protests.

The killing of Timothy Stansbury Jr. occurred in New York City on January 24,2004. Stansbury was an unarmed 19-year-old in New York City who was shot and killed by New York Police Department Officer Richard S. Neri Jr. Officer Neri and a partner were patrolling the rooftop of a housing project in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn at about 1 a.m. Officer Neri,with his gun drawn,approached a rooftop door to check the stairway inside. Neri testified to a Brooklyn grand jury that he fired his standard Glock 19 pistol unintentionally when he was startled as Stansbury pushed open the rooftop door. Stansbury,a resident of an adjoining building,died from one shot in the chest. The grand jury found the shooting to be accidental.
Orlando Winfield Wilson,also known as O. W. Wilson,was an American police officer,later becoming a leader in policing along with authoring several books on policing. Wilson served as Superintendent of the Chicago Police Department,chief of police in Fullerton,California and Wichita,Kansas.

Police reform in the United States is an ongoing process that seeks to reform systems of law enforcement throughout the United States. Many goals of the police reform movement center on police accountability. Specific goals may include:lowering the criminal intent standard,limiting or abolishing qualified immunity for law enforcement officers,sensitivity training,conflict prevention and mediation training,updating legal frameworks,and granting administrative subpoena power to the U.S. Department of Justice for "pattern or practice" investigations into police misconduct and police brutality.
