The Rigby Group is the parent company of several privately owned businesses operating across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.
The Rigby Group, incorporated in 1997, began its business activities in 1975. The net assets of The Rigby Group are estimated at over £500 million at the end of 2023. [1]
In 2013 the company was ranked 13th in the Sunday Times ’ Top Track 100 listing of the UK’s fastest growing private enterprises. [2] [3]
The Rigby Group was originally founded as a small computer recruitment company based in Birmingham, named Specialist Computer Recruitment (SCC). [4]

In June 2013, the group acquired Exeter Airport from Balfour Beatty. [13] Sir Peter Rigby commented "that the purchase price was "significantly south" of the £60m paid by Balfour Beatty in 2007". [14]
The following week, the group announced it had also acquired Regional and City Airport Management Limited from Balfour Beatty Plc and became responsible for the overall operation of Blackpool and City of Derry and Solent airports. [15]
In 2014, the group acquired Norwich Airport acquired for an undisclosed sum.[ citation needed ]
In September 2014, the group’s aviation division completed the acquisition of Capital Air Charter in Exeter, bringing both Capital Air Charter and Capital Air Ambulance services into the Rigby Group. [16]
In 2017, the group acquired Helen Green Design [17] and, in the following year, acquired Lawson Robb to bring together with their own design firm, Rigby & Rigby. Since 2018, these firms have all operated under the new Rigby Group Allect Design banner. [18]
In 2017, the group also acquired Bournemouth Airport from Manchester Airports Group (MAG). [19]
As of 2018, the group’s financial services division consisted of three companies: FluidOne, Nuvias and Rigby Capital. [20]

One Nine Elms is a mixed-use skyscraper in Nine Elms, London. It was originally developed by Wanda One, a UK subsidiary company of Dalian Wanda, until they sold the project to R&F Properties, another Chinese firm in 2018. It was designed by architects Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF). The development replaces two towers on the site built in the 1970s called Market Towers and forms part of a wider redevelopment of the Nine Elms area of London. The development consists of two towers: the 57-storey City Tower contains 334 homes, while the 42-storey River Tower contains a 203-room Park Hyatt luxury hotel and 103 luxury Park Hyatt-branded apartments. Upon completion in 2024, One Nine Elms became one of the tallest residential developments in London and the United Kingdom.
Midland Metropolitan University Hospital is an acute general hospital on Grove Lane in Smethwick, near Birmingham. The hospital was designed by a team led by HKS and including Edward Williams Architects and Sonnemann Toon Architects. Its emergency department replaced those at Sandwell and City hospitals.
