The Right to Care card is a document issued by the Quezon City government in the Philippines for LGBT+ couples in the city.
The Right to Care card was launched on June 24, 2023, by the Quezon City government under Mayor Joy Belmonte coinciding with Pride Month observance. [1] [2] [3] The project is a partnership between the city government and MullenLowe Treyna. [4] [5]
The implementation of the relevant program was launched in select hospitals under the Quezon City government such as the Quezon City General Hospital, Novaliches District Hospital, and Rosario Maaclang Bautista General Hospital. [6] The city government intends to secure partnerships with privately run hospitals within the city. [2]
Prior to the launch of the card, hospitals and other medical facilities only allow legal spouses or next of kin to make important medical decisions in behalf of an individual. [3]
This excludes same-sex partners from doing the same. They have to secure a special power of attorney (SPA). [3]
The card could be availed through the Quezon City gender and development (GAD) office. It will contain a QR code linking to the relevant notarized SPA. [3]

Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people (LGBT) in the Philippines face some legal challenges not faced by non-LGBT people, with numerous anti-discrimination legislations, bills and laws that are struggling to be passed on a national level to protect LGBT rights nationwide, with some parts of the country only existing on a local government level. LGBT individuals in the Philippines are often faced with disadvantages and difficulties in acquiring equal rights within the country. They also have a higher rate of suicide and suicide ideation compared to their heterosexual counterparts.
Trinity University of Asia, also known as TUA or simply Trinity, is a non-sectarian private university located in Quezon City, Philippines. North Avenue is a major road located in Quezon City within the Diliman area of northeastern Metro Manila, Philippines. It runs east–west through barangays Bagong Pag-asa, Project 6, and Vasra, forming the northern part of the North Triangle area. Forming as a part of St. Luke's Medical Center group of hospitals, it was founded in 1903 by the American missionary Charles Henry Brent under the Protestant Episcopal Church in the United States of America (PECUSA) as the third oldest American and Protestant hospital in the Philippines after CPU–Iloilo Mission Hospital and Silliman University Medical Center.

The Manor Hotel fire was a fire occurred at the Manor Hotel in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines on August 18, 2001. With a death toll of 74, it is considered to be the second worst structural fire in Philippine history, tied with the 2015 Kentex slipper factory fire and only behind the Ozone Disco fire in 1996.
