Rikhanikhal (also spelled Rikhnikhal) is a sub-Tehsil in the district Pauri Garhwal in the state of Uttarakhand. [1] The sub-tehsil was created in the year 2016 and has 190 villages. [2]

The economy of the area is dependent on agriculture and despite being located close to Corbett National Park, has very little tourism activities. It is a backward area with unreliable road connectivity. [3] In October, 2022 there was a terrible accident that led to death of 32 people. [4] [5] [6] [7]

Gairsain is a town in Chamoli district of the Indian state of Uttarakhand near state's summer capital Bhararisain. Kotdwar is a city, municipal corporation in Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand, India. It is just 101 km from Pauri, the district headquarter. It is the eighth-largest city in Uttarakhand. Its old name was "Kootdwar", which means the gateway of the high hill koot as Chitra koot, since it is located on the bank of river Khoh. It is situated in the southwestern part of the state and is one of the main entrance points in the state of Uttarakhand.

Gadkhark is a village in the Thalisain tehsil of Bironkhal block in Pauri Garhwal district, Uttarakhand, India.

On 6 June 2022, a bus carrying 55 passengers as a part of a marriage ceremony fell into the 500-meter-deep gorge at night near Simdi village in Dhumakot area Uttarakhand. 32 people were killed and the rest were heavily injured in the crash. The bus was being driven from Laldhang in Haridwar district to Birkhal block of Pauri district.

Bironkhal Tehsil is a administrative division located in the Pauri Garhwal district of the Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is one of the 14 tehsils in the district and is headquartered in the town of Syunsi. It was created in 2016 with 367 villages taken from Dhumakot, Chaubattakhal and Thalisain tehsils. The main languages spoken in the area are Hindi and Garhwali.

On 4 November 2024, a bus traveling from Garhwal to the Kumaon region in the Indian state of Uttarakhand fell into a gorge near Almora. 38 people were killed and 25 others were injured.
