Rise and Fall is the debut full-length album by Tim Halperin, released on September 27, 2011. [1] It reached No. 1 on the iTunes Singer-Songwriter Chart, [2] and debuted at No. 14 on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart. [3]

Production

Halperin had started work on the album over a year earlier, only to put the release date on hold to fulfill his Idol contract. [4] He spent much of 2010 working on the recordings with producer Jordan Critz (The Fray, Third Eye Blind and Lifehouse). [4] According to Halperin, "With this record, because it's my first full-length album, I wanted to make sure that it was the most me. That it had songs on it that I felt like best represented who I am, not only as a songwriter, but as a person." [1]

Release, reception

Rise and Fall was released on September 27, 2011. [1] It rose to No. 1 on the iTunes Singer-Songwriter Chart, [2] and held that position for 4 days. [3] Rise and Fall also debuted at No. 14 on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart. [3] [5] The CD underwent a second official release on December 6, 2011. [6] The first track on the album, "All You Got," was written for Kidd's Kids, with all proceeds going to the organization. [4]

"The Last Song"

His first single for Rise and Fall and one of the first tracks recorded for the album, [1] "The Last Song," as of September 26, 2011 was in the top ten on the Singer-Songwriters Songs chart on iTunes. [1]

For the music video of "The Last Song" fans donated a budget of $8,000. According to a description of the scenes, "Halperin crawls through his piano, then wanders through a field, drives an old convertible down a suburban road, wanders across a movie set, finds himself at a birthday party and plunges underwater. He eventually winds up in a forest at night, wearing a white suit and coattails as people dance underneath bright lights hanging from trees." [7]

Travis Garland is an American singer and dancer. He is best known as the former lead singer of the boy band NLT which consisted of Kevin McHale, Justin Joseph "JJ" Thorne and V Sevani. They were discovered by Chris Stokes and signed to his TUG Entertainment-label in 2006. In May 2009, Garland confirmed on his Myspace page that the group had split. Garland is now a solo artist.

Tim Halperin American musician

Tim Halperin is an American singer-songwriter. A piano player and vocalist, in 2007 he began performing and recording, and in 2010 his track "We Fight Back" became the theme song for Susan G. Komen for the Cure. He was a Top 24 American Idol contestant for season 10, and afterwards released his 2011 debut album, Rise and Fall, which peaked at no. 14 on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart. The EP Under that Christmas Spell followed in 2012, and like all his albums since Rise and Fall was released on 24 Hour Distribution. Halperin's second album Heart Tells Your Head was released in February 2014 and peaked at No. 21 on the Heatseekers chart.

"In the Dark" is a song performed by American singer Dev. It was written by Dev alongside The Cataracs, who produced it for Dev's debut studio album, The Night the Sun Came Up (2011). The song was released as the album's second single on April 25, 2011, through Universal Motown. "In the Dark" came about when Dev wanted to make a sexy song to show that she is a grown woman. She collaborated with American rapper Flo Rida on an official remix as she believed she would enjoy the remix when hearing it on the radio. "In the Dark" is a dance-pop song with a saxophone hook and influences of Eurodance, Latin and jazz music.
