Donovan Phillips Leitch,known mononymously as Donovan,is a Scottish musician,songwriter and record producer. He developed an eclectic and distinctive style that blended folk,jazz,pop,psychedelic rock and world music. He has lived in Scotland,Hertfordshire (England),London,California,and—since at least 2008—in County Cork,Ireland,with his family. Emerging from the British folk scene,Donovan reached fame in the United Kingdom in early 1965 with live performances on the pop TV series Ready Steady Go!.

It was released in the US in February 1967 (Epic Records LN 24239 / BN 26239,but not released in the UK because of a continuing contractual dispute that also prevented Sunshine Superman from a UK release. In June 1967,a cross-section of both albums was released as Sunshine Superman in the UK. "Mellow Yellow" was the name of Donovan's hit single released the previous November.
The Hurdy Gurdy Man is the sixth studio album by Scottish singer-songwriter Donovan. It was released in the US in October 1968 on Epic Records,but not in the UK due to a continuing contractual dispute that also prevented Sunshine Superman (1966) and Mellow Yellow (1967) from being released there. A songbook of lead sheets to the album was nonetheless issued in both countries.
Barabajagal is the seventh studio album and eighth album overall from British singer-songwriter Donovan. It was released by Epic Records in the United States on 11 August 1969,but was not released in the United Kingdom because of a continuing contractual dispute that also prevented Sunshine Superman,Mellow Yellow,and The Hurdy Gurdy Man from being released in the UK.

The Magnificent Moodies is the 1965 debut album by British rock band The Moody Blues,released on Decca Records. It is the only album by the original line-up of Denny Laine (guitar/vocals),Clint Warwick (bass/vocals),Mike Pinder (keyboards/vocals),Ray Thomas (flute/harmonica/percussion/vocals) and Graeme Edge (drums). Lead vocals were shared by Laine,Pinder and Thomas. The album is a mix of rhythm and blues covers,including "Go Now" which had been a Number 1 hit single for the band earlier that year,and original songs by Laine and Pinder which show more of a Merseybeat influence. Also included is a cover of the George and Ira Gershwin standard "It Ain't Necessarily So". The album was produced by Denny Cordell,with the exception of "Go Now" which was produced by Alex Wharton. In-between "Go Now" and The Magnificent Moodies the band had released two more singles,"I Don't Want to Go On Without You" and "From the Bottom of My Heart",neither of which were included on the album. For the American and Canadian release on London Records,with the title Go Now:The Moody Blues #1,four songs were replaced with those two preceding singles and two B-sides,with a different running order of the tracks. One of the tracks that was replaced,"Stop",was released as a single in America and Canada later that year. The American and Canadian album also titled three of the songs incorrectly.

The Costello Album,also The McCartney/MacManus Collaboration,is a Paul McCartney album that includes work from his 1987–88 songwriting collaboration with Elvis Costello. The album includes demo recordings made by Paul and Elvis in the throes of their collaboration,other demos of some songs by Costello and McCartney individually,live performances by Costello,and two duo live performances taken from a 1995 benefit concert at the Royal College of Music. A planned album credited to both was abandoned,initial work-ups appearing in the 2017 deluxe edition reissue to McCartney's Flowers in the Dirt. These recordings were unknown to the public until 1998 when they surfaced as an unofficial compact disc titled The McCartney/MacManus Collaboration.
