Rita Martinson (born September 11,1937) is an American politician. She served as a member of the Mississippi House of Representatives from the 58th District from 1992 to 2016. She is a member of the Republican party. [1] She decided not to seek reelection in 2015. [2]
Harry Martinson was a Swedish writer,poet and former sailor. In 1949 he was elected into the Swedish Academy. He was awarded a joint Nobel Prize in Literature in 1974 together with fellow Swede Eyvind Johnson "for writings that catch the dewdrop and reflect the cosmos". The choice was controversial,as both Martinson and Johnson were members of the academy.
Lillian Florence Hellman was an American playwright,prose writer,memoirist and screenwriter known for her success on Broadway,as well as her communist views and political activism. She was blacklisted after her appearance before the House Committee on Un-American Activities (HUAC) at the height of the anti-communist campaigns of 1947–1952. Although she continued to work on Broadway in the 1950s,her blacklisting by the American film industry caused a drop in her income. Many praised Hellman for refusing to answer questions by HUAC,but others believed,despite her denial,that she had belonged to the Communist Party.

Rita Frances Dove is an American poet and essayist. From 1993 to 1995,she served as Poet Laureate Consultant in Poetry to the Library of Congress. She is the first African American to have been appointed since the position was created by an act of Congress in 1986 from the previous "consultant in poetry" position (1937–86). Dove also received an appointment as "special consultant in poetry" for the Library of Congress's bicentennial year from 1999 to 2000.
