Rival State is an alternative rock band based out of London, United Kingdom, which formed in New Plymouth, New Zealand in 2002.[ citation needed ] The band consists of members Salvi Stone, Nimal Fernando, Jo Einarsson, Stefan Einarsson and Valdi Einarsson. [1]
The band released their debut album Apollo Me [2] on 12 October 2012 in New Zealand, where it reached No 1 on the Top 20 New Zealand Album Charts [3] and No 10 on the New Zealand Top 40 Album Charts. [4]
In 2014 the band relocated to London, where they released their Youth Tax EP on 22 October 2014. [5]

Shihad are a rock band formed in Wellington, New Zealand in 1988. The band consists of founders Tom Larkin, Phil Knight and Jon Toogood, who were joined by Karl Kippenberger in 1991. The band were known as Pacifier between 2002 and 2004.
The Chills are a New Zealand rock band that formed in Dunedin in 1980. The band are fronted by founding mainstay singer-songwriter, guitarist Martin Phillipps. During the mid-1990s they were billed as Martin Phillipps & the Chills. Their top ten studio albums in their homeland are Submarine Bells (1990), Soft Bomb (1992), Snow Bound (2018) and Scatterbrain (2021). The Chills were a cult band in other parts of the world as one of the earliest proponents of the Dunedin sound. Their top 20 singles are "Pink Frost", "Doledrums", "I Love My Leather Jacket" (1986), "Heavenly Pop Hit" (1990) and "Male Monster from the Id" (1992).
