Robert Geller (born 1976, in Hamburg, Germany) is a German-born American fashion designer. [1]

Early life and education

He graduated with a degree in fashion design at RISD in 2001 and moved to New York to join Marc Jacobs shortly after. [2]

Career

In New York, Geller met Alexandre Plokhov, a patternmaker, and partnered up with Alexandre to launch menswear brand Cloak, which went on to win the Ecco Domani award in 2003 and the Vogue/CFDA Grant in 2004. Robert left Cloak after the Fall 2004 collection. Cloak finally closed down in Spring 2007. [2]

In 2006, Robert launched a women's line called Harald. Initially meant to only be knitwear, the line exploded into a full fledge collection, helping launch Robert back into the fashion spotlight. The attention allowed him to secure financial backing for a menswear label under his own name. [2] In Fall 2007 Robert Geller menswear debuted at New York Fashion Week. [3]

Awards and honors

Geller received the GQ Best New Menswear Designer Award in 2009. [4] [5] Geller was a finalist for the 2010 CFDA / Vogue Fashion Fund prize, and won CFDA Swarovski Award for Menswear in 2011. [4]

Personal life

He is married to fashion designer Ana Beatriz Lerario, designer of Lerario Beatriz. [6] The couple met while working together at Marc Jacobs. [7]

Phillip Lim American fashion designer

Phillip Lim is an American fashion designer of Chinese descent whose parents immigrated to America from Thailand during the Cambodian genocide. Lim co-founded and worked at the Los Angeles-based fashion label Development from 2000 to 2004. In the fall of 2005, he co-founded 3.1 Phillip Lim with friend and business partner Wen Zhou, becoming the company's creative representative.

Alexandre Plokhov is a Russian-born American clothing designer. He created designs for the Cloak and Versace labels before creating his own brand in 2011.

Timo Weiland is a fashion line for men and women designed by Tim Weiland, Donna Kang and Alan Eckstein. Based in the Garment District of New York City, Timo Weiland started as a neckwear collection and evolved into a full-range womenswear and menswear designer clothing line.

Paul Andrew is an English fashion designer, currently based in New York City. He launched his eponymous women's footwear line in September 2012. Hood By Air is a high fashion brand based in New York City first launched in 2006 and active to the present day, with the exception of a hiatus between early 2017 – 2019. The designer is Shayne Oliver, a former student at Fashion Institute of Technology and New York University who described his design aesthetic as "ghetto gothic" and banjee. Oliver was named among The 25 Greatest Black Fashion Designers by Complex. Oliver brought in the conceptual artist and filmmaker Leilah Weinraub as CEO and cofounder in 2012. Weinraub was openly skeptical of the brand's celebrity endorsements. The company was notable for refusing outside investment. In the past, Hood By Air, also known by the acronym HBA, has identified as a "luxury streetwear brand," a term coined by Oliver and now “synonymous with HBA's subversive use of logos, high-end production values and an ingenious online presence”.
