Robert S. Graham (born January 9,1972) is an American entrepreneur,business owner,author,and the former chairman of the Arizona Republican Party (AZ GOP),serving from 2013 to 2017. [1] [2]
Graham was born in Fort Walton Beach,Florida in 1972. His father was an Air Force Major,and the Graham family moved to the Kincheloe Air Force Base in Michigan where they lived until the end of the Cold War. [3]
Graham attended high school in East Lansing Michigan. He then transferred to Arizona State University,where he received a Bachelor of Sciences in Global Business Management and Finance and graduated cum laude. [4] For his entrepreneurial success and service to ASU,Graham was awarded "Distinguished Alumnus" from the School of Global Management and Leadership. [5] He graduated from Thunderbird School of Global Management 2013 and received a Masters of Business Administration in Global Management. [6]
In 1997,Graham started working as the director of marketing for Gold and Associates. He then worked as the vice president of business development for CUE Financial until 2001,where he increased the company's national market share. [7] From 2001 until 2004,he worked as a private wealth advisor for Merrill Lynch. In 2004,he left Merrill Lynch and founded RG Capital,LLC and iNation,LLC. iNation is a Scottsdale-based data and digital technology company (SaaS),with a customer relationship management (CRM) tool designed for businesses and professionals worldwide,and Graham served as the founder and chairman until he sold the business in 2008 to a private equity firm.[ citation needed ]
Graham was elected chairman of the Arizona Republican Party in January 2013,when he received 70% of the vote. [8] [9] His primary duty as chairman is to maintain and grow the Republican Party in Arizona. He has been recognized nationally for the successful 2014 midterm elections in Arizona,on account of Republicans winning every statewide office. [10] [11]
In January 2015,Graham was re-elected as the chairman of the Arizona Republican Party,receiving 82% of the vote,a 12% increase from his previous election. [12] Graham is known in the Arizona Republican Party for his outreach to minority communities,and in 2015,Governor Doug Ducey and the State of Arizona appointed him to the Arizona Commission of African-American Affairs. [13] Beginning in 2013,Graham has worked with Asian,African American,Latino,and Tribal coalitions. [14] [15]
In 2010,Graham published his first book Job Killers:The American Dream in Reverse. [16] The book explains how labor unions can ruin jobs and shrink the economy.
Graham has been married to his wife Julia since 1997. They have six children together. [17]
Harold Trent Franks is an American businessman and former politician who served as the U.S. representative for Arizona's 8th congressional district from 2003 to 2017. He is a member of the Republican Party. During his tenure,Franks served as vice chairman of the United States House Armed Services Subcommittee on Strategic Forces and chairman of the United States House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution,Civil Rights and Civil Liberties.
Matthew James Salmon is an American politician who served as a U.S. representative from Arizona from 1995 to 2001 and again from 2013 until 2017. A member of the Republican Party,he retired from office after representing Arizona's 5th congressional district. The district is based in Mesa and includes most of the East Valley;he previously represented Arizona's 1st congressional district. In 2002,he lost by less than 1% to Janet Napolitano in a highly competitive gubernatorial race. He regained a congressional seat in the 2012 election.
John Alexander Thain is an American financial executive and investment banker. He was president and co-COO of Goldman Sachs,and then CEO of the New York Stock Exchange. Thain then became the last chairman and CEO of Merrill Lynch &Co. before its merger with Bank of America. He was designated to become president of global banking,securities,and wealth management at the newly combined company,but resigned on January 22,2009. Ken Lewis,CEO of Bank of America,reportedly forced Thain to step down after several controversies,such as the losses at Merrill Lynch which proved to be far larger than previously estimated,and the award of huge executive bonuses. Thain then was chairman and CEO of the CIT Group. He has been a board member of Uber since 2017.
Dean Arthur Heller is an American businessman and politician who served as a United States senator representing Nevada from 2011 to 2019. A member of the Republican Party,he served as the 15th secretary of state of Nevada from 1995 to 2007 and U.S. representative for Nevada's 2nd congressional district from 2007 to 2011. He was appointed to the U.S. Senate by Governor Brian Sandoval and elected to a full term in the 2012 election. Heller unsuccessfully ran for a second term in 2018,losing to Democrat Jacky Rosen. He was an unsuccessful candidate for governor of Nevada in 2022,and is currently the last Republican to win a Nevada U.S. Senate seat.
Thunderbird School of Global Management is a global leadership,management,and business school at Arizona State University,a public research university in the Phoenix metropolitan area. It was founded in 1946 as an independent,private institution and acquired by Arizona State University in 2014. The school moved to ASU's Downtown Phoenix campus in 2018. The campus built a new $75 million building for the school in 2021.

The 2018 United States elections were held on Tuesday,November 6,2018. These midterm elections occurred during Incumbent Republican President Donald Trump's first term.
