Hammarby IF Fotbollförening, more commonly known as Hammarby Fotboll or simply Hammarby, is a Swedish professional football club from Stockholm founded in 1915. The club is based at Tele2 Arena in Johanneshov but founded in the neighbouring Södermalm district of Stockholm City Centre, the area that is the club's heartland.

A full international between 1977 and 1979, he won five caps and scored two goals for the Sweden national team and was a part of their 1978 FIFA World Cup squad. For the 2005 season, AIK Fotboll was relegated to the second flight Superettan, just six years after playing Barcelona, Arsenal and Fiorentina in the Champions League of 1999–2000. Following relegation, AIK changed coach to Rikard Norling, and after a shaky start, AIK soon were at the top of the table, promoted back into Allsvenskan, as arch rivals Djurgården won the national title.

The 2016 Allsvenskan season was the 92nd edition of top tier Allsvenskan football competition since its founding in 1924 under the authority of the Swedish Football Association in Sweden; the 2016 Swedish football season. The season started on 2 April 2016 and ended in November 2016. 16 teams contested. The fixtures were released on 9 December 2015 and it included a match between the two most recent champions IFK Norrköping and Malmö FF as the opening game, a revisit of their 2015 final match.

In the following years the team competed instead in a Stockholm-only competition, and then in the Svenska Serien. In 1924 AIK joined the Allsvenskan league, and won it in 1932 and 1937.
