Season 2

Robinson: La Gran Aventura 2001 was the first season of Robinson: La Gran Aventura , the Venezuelan version of the Swedish show Expedition Robinson that was aired in 2001. The season was filmed in the Bocas del Toro archipelago of Panama.

During the premerge portion of the game, the teams proved to be equally strong. When it came time to merge, a twist was added to the game. This twist would allow for the person who had immunity at any given tribal council to break any tie votes. At the first post merge tribal council both the former North team and former South team members stayed loyal to their original tribes which led to a tie in votes. As Gabriel Pérez from the South team had immunity he cast his vote to eliminate former North team member Nelson. Following this initial tribal council, the South team began to pick off the remaining members of the North team one by one until only six contestants were left in the game when two of the former South team members along with the remaining North team members voted for the leader of the South team alliance Darío González which eventually led to his elimination. When it came time for the final four the contestants took part in two challenges in order to determine who would make the final two. Gabriel Pérez won the first of these challenges and advanced to the final two while Verónica Pinto was eliminated for losing the challenge. Antonio Tranchino won the second challenge and also advanced to the final two while Annalisse "Ana" Acosta lost and became the final member of the jury. Ultimately, it was Gabriel Pérez who won this season over Antonio Tranchino with a jury vote of 6-1.

This season also saw the first "pre-first" vote exit which was taken by Maria Kjellström. The second twist of the season was introduced when it was time for the jury to vote: each finalist was allowed to pick three of the last nine contestants eliminated to vote for a winner. Robert Drakwind, formerly known as Robert Andersson, returned to compete for a third time since 1999 along with his girlfriend, Anna Carin Wase. Both were "jokers" and did not enter the competition until episode 3. Both jokers became "chiefs" of one of the tribes and were given immunity at all pre-merge tribal councils, however from episode 4 on they could be challenged by any member of their tribe for the position of chief. If challenged, the chief and challenger would face off in a duel in which the winner would become chief and the loser would be eliminated from the competition. The final twist of the season was that of the "Finalist Island". Introduced in a challenge immediately preceding the merge, contestants would compete in a series of duels in which the winner would earn a spot on Finalist Island. The two contestants left on Finalist Island when only seven contestants were left would have immunity until the final four, while the remaining five contestants not on the island would have to compete for the two remaining spots. These two contestants were soon joined by Douwe Popma, who had been voted out immediately after a challenge. In episode 4, the two original teams were dismantled and the remaining players were mixed up into new tribes known as the North and South teams. With these new tribes, all who had previously been living on the Secret island joined one of the two new tribes in the game and Nicole Hendriks, who had been eliminated in the previous episode, re-entered the game as a replacement for the large number of contestants who had left the game.
