Roderick D. Fraser (born July 23,1940) is a Canadian academic. He served as president of the University of Alberta from 1995 to 2005. [1] Fraser is currently a member of the Aga Khan University Board of Trustees. [2] He is also a member of the Order of Canada and Order of the Rising Sun (2006). [3]
Fraser attended the University of Alberta,where he got a Bachelor of Arts degree and master's degree in economics. He received his Ph.D from the London School of Economics in 1965. [4] Prior to serving as president of the University of Alberta,he taught economics at Queen's University.
Simon Fraser University (SFU) is a public research university in British Columbia,Canada,with three campuses,all in Greater Vancouver:Burnaby,Surrey,and Vancouver. The 170-hectare (420-acre) main Burnaby campus on Burnaby Mountain,located 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) from downtown Vancouver,was established in 1965 and comprises more than 30,000 students and 160,000 alumni. The Christian Heritage Party of Canada,also referred to as CHP Canada,is a minor social conservative and Christian right federal political party in Canada;it was founded in 1987,the brainchild of two couples in British Columbia,namely Bill and Heather Stilwell who were Roman Catholics and Ed Vanwoudenberg and his wife,Reformed Protestants. CHP advocates for Canada to be governed according to Christian principles and ethics. Sheldon Kennedy is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. He played for the Detroit Red Wings,Boston Bruins and Calgary Flames in the National Hockey League (NHL). Kennedy was drafted by the Red Wings in the fourth round of the 1988 NHL Entry Draft while playing with the Swift Current Broncos of the Western Hockey League (WHL). In the WHL,Kennedy helped the Broncos capture the 1989 Memorial Cup,and was named to the tournament all-star team. Kennedy represented Canada internationally at the World Junior Championships in 1988 and 1989. He helped Canada win a gold medal at the 1988 tournament. Kennedy was born in Brandon,Manitoba,but grew up in Elkhorn,Manitoba.

James McEwen is a Canadian biomedical engineer and the inventor of the microprocessor-controlled automatic tourniquet system,which is now standard for 15,000-20,000 procedures daily in operating rooms worldwide. Their widespread adoption and use has significantly improved surgical safety,quality and economy. McEwen is President of Western Clinical Engineering Ltd.,a biomedical engineering research and development company and he is a director of Delfi Medical Innovations Inc.,a company he founded to commercialize some results of that research and development. He is also an adjunct professor in the School of Biomedical Engineering,in the Department of Orthopaedics and in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of British Columbia.

Max Wyman was a Canadian mathematician and academic administrator. He served as president of the University of Alberta from 1969 to 1974. He was educated at the University of Alberta and California Institute of Technology. He rejoined his alma mater in 1943,the University of Alberta as a lecturer,and became a professor in 1956. In 1961,he was chair of the Department of Mathematics,and from 1963 to 1965 was the Dean of Science. He was named Vice President (Academic) of the university in 1964,and became president in 1969. He was the first former student of the University to become president. Wyman retired in 1974 and died in 1991.
Louis Armand Desrochers was a Canadian lawyer. He served as Chancellor of the University of Alberta from 1970 to 1974. Desrochers was born in Montreal in 1928 and moved to Jasper,Alberta in his childhood. He was educated in Edmonton at the Collège des Jésuites,Collège Saint-Jean,and then at the University of Ottawa. He completed a law degree at the University of Alberta in 1952 and was a lawyer for Maclab Construction. He also served on the University of Alberta Board of Governors and worked to strengthen connections between Collège Saint-Jean and the university. Three years after he left his position as chancellor,the Collège was integrated as a satellite campus of the University,as the University of Alberta FacultéSaint-Jean. In 2001,Desrochers was named to the Alberta Order of Excellence. He held honorary degrees from the University of Alberta,University of Ottawa,and Laval University. In 1953,he Marcelle Boutin;with her he had five children. Desrochers died in 2015 at the age of 87.

Sturgess has been involved in the development of water projects and systems for several companies,as well as policy development for industrial and government clients. A technology start-up entrepreneur and manager,she is involved with improving the management of,and education about,Alberta’s water resources.
Kathleen Sendall is a Canadian engineer. In 2005,she served as president of the Canadian Academy of Engineering. Throughout her career,which began in Alberta's oil and gas industry,she has held technical and executive positions and has actively promoted the participation of women in the profession of engineering. She is a member of the Order of Canada.
