Rodrigo Afonso (fl. late 15th century) was a Portuguese colonial administrator.
His early life is unknown. He was probably born on Ribeira Grande (now Cidade Velha) and was the first colonial governor who was born in Cape Verde. [1] [2] He was probably one of the first Portuguese people born in Cape Verde. He was likely a son of the explorer Diogo Afonso.
He was later the 2nd and last captain of Northern Santiago. He was donated the island of Boa Vista in 1490 and became captain on from October 29,1497,until 1505 and three days later for Boa Vista Island. The main administration of Southern Santiago would be ruled only by the corregedor of Cape Verde,from 1588 to 1975 as governor.
The recorded history of Cape Verde begins with the Portuguese discovery of the island in 1458. Possible early references to Cape Verde date back at least 2,000 years.

The 2010 Cape Verdean Football Championship season was the 31st of the competition of the first-tier football in Cape Verde. Its started on 8 May,slightly later than the last season and finished on 10 July,later than last year. The tournament was organized by the Cape Verdean Football Federation. It was the second consecutive time that the final featured two clubs from the same island and city,the next time it happened would be five years later. It brought the Capital Rivalry between Sporting and Boavista to the national championships. Another club of Praia named Boavista FC winning the national title breaking Sporting Praia's consecutive title wins. A month later,Boavista Praia would become the only club to win both the championship and the cup title in the same season.

Manuel António Martins was a Portuguese businessman and colonial governor of Cape Verde and Portuguese Guinea from 1834 to 1835. Martins was said to be the richest man in the country and nicknamed the Napoleon of the Cape Verde Islands. He arrived in Cape Verde in 1792. He started the exploitation of the salt ponds of Pedra de Lume on the island of Sal in 1796.

Francisco de Vasconcelos da Cunha was a Portuguese colonial administrator. He was born around 1590,and was governor of Portuguese Cape Verde from 1624 to 1628. He succeeded Manuel Afonso de Guerra,who was also the Bishop of Santiago de Cabo Verde. He was succeeded by João Pereira Corte-Real. In 1634,he became the captain-general of Portuguese Angola,succeeding Manuel Pereira Coutinho. He was succeeded on 18 October 1639 by Pedro César de Meneses.
