Ron Arthun was a Republican member of the Montana Legislature. He was elected for Senate District 31,representing the Wilsall,Montana area,in 2010. [1] Arthun graduated from Montana State University with an agriculture degree. Besides maintaining a ranch,Arthun performs with the Ringling 5 travelling group. [2] He retired in 2016.

Montana State University (MSU) is a public land-grant research university in Bozeman,Montana. It is the state's largest university. MSU offers baccalaureate degrees in 60 fields,master's degrees in 68 fields,and doctoral degrees in 35 fields through its nine colleges. More than 16,700 students attended MSU in fall 2019,taught by 796 full-time and 547 part-time faculty.
The 2008 United States Senate election in Montana was held on November 4,2008. Incumbent Democratic Senator Max Baucus won re-election to a sixth term in a landslide,winning more than 70% of the vote and carrying every county in the state,despite Republican John McCain's narrow victory in the state in the concurrent presidential election. As of 2022,this is the last time a Democrat was elected to the Class 2 Senate seat in Montana.

Same-sex couples and families headed by same-sex couples are eligible for all of the protections available to opposite-sex married couples,as same-sex marriage has been recognized since November 2014. State statutes do not address discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity;however,the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling in Bostock v. Clayton County established that employment discrimination against LGBT people is illegal under federal law. A number of cities also provide protections in housing and public accommodations.
