Ronnie Simmons (born 26 August 1988) is an Australian guitarist. He is currently a member of Rose Tattoo and Richie Ramone's touring band [1] as well as his own band, Ronnie Simmons and the Redback Spiders.
Simmons began busking on the main street of Newtown, Sydney in his pre-teens and at the age of 15 formed and fronted his first band The Skanks who began performing in the pubs and clubs of Sydney in 2004. In 2006 he formed L.U.S.T. who toured with bands like The Screaming Jets and Ace Frehley. While a member of Sydney rock band The Art, he toured with them through Europe and the US as support to Faster Pussycat in 2013. The Art planned to relocate to Los Angeles in 2014, but only Simmons went through with the move. [2] While in the US he worked with Tommy Henriksen and Gilby Clarke, with The Raskins as their guitarist on The Mötley Crüe Final Tour (the highest grossing tour worldwide of that year) with Alice Cooper in 2014 including playing a sold out Madison Square Garden, and recorded an album with Motochrist in 2015. He joined Richie Ramone's band in 2016.
In 2022 he was invited to join Faster Pussycat. [3] Following an Australian tour with that band in early 2023, he joined Rose Tattoo. [4]
Simmons recorded a solo album in LA during 2022; after returning to Australia in 2023, he formed Ronnie Simmons and the Redback Spiders in 2024 to perform songs from the album. It is set to be released in 2025. [5]
