Freedom of Choice is the third studio album by the American new wave band Devo. It was originally released in May 1980 on the Warner Bros. label. The album contained their biggest hit, "Whip It", which hit No. 8 and No. 14 on the Billboard Club Play Singles and Pop Singles charts, respectively. Freedom of Choice peaked at No. 22 on the Billboard Pop Albums chart.
Whip-Smart is the second album by American singer-songwriter Liz Phair, released in 1994, the follow-up to Phair's critically well received debut, 1993's Exile in Guyville. Despite not being as critically well received as her previous record, Whip-Smart debuted at No. 27 on the Billboard 200 and ultimately achieved gold status. As of July 2010, it had sold 412,000 copies.

"Whip It" is a song by American rock band Devo from their third album Freedom of Choice (1980). It is a new wave and synth-pop song that features a synthesizer, electric guitar, bass guitar, and drums in its instrumentation. The apparently nonsensical lyrics have a common theme revolving around the ability to deal with one's problems by "whipping it". Co-written by bassist Gerald Casale and singer Mark Mothersbaugh, Devo recorded "Whip It" with producer Robert Margouleff at the Record Plant in Los Angeles.
Smoke 'Em If You Got 'Em is the first album by psychobilly trio The Reverend Horton Heat. It was released in 1990 on Sub Pop. An early version of the album had been recorded in the traditional manner. However, the band and the label decided that it did not fit with their vision, so it was re-recorded "live in the studio" direct to two-track, with the exception of "Love Whip."
Zappa in New York is a double live album by Frank Zappa released on his own DiscReet Records label. It was recorded in December 1976 at a series of concerts at the Palladium in New York City.

DEV-O Live is a live EP by American new wave band Devo. It was recorded during the Freedom of Choice tour of 1980, at the Fox Warfield Theatre. Initially only six songs from the show were released on an EP in 1981, intended for airplay use. It featured the otherwise-unreleased "Freedom of Choice Theme Song" and a reworked version of "Be Stiff".

Out of the Dark is the first solo album by original Parliament-Funkadelic bassist Billy Bass Nelson, released under the name O.G. Funk. The album was released in 1993 by Polystar records in Japan and by Rykodisc in the U.S. and the United Kingdom the following year. It was produced by Nelson and Bill Laswell as part of Laswell's Black Arc Series. The album features re-workings of various early Funkadelic tracks as well as original material. Out of the Dark is dedicated to fellow P-Funk musician Eddie Hazel, who had died a year prior to the release of the album.

The Magic Whip is the eighth studio album by English rock band Blur. It was recorded in Hong Kong and London, and released by Parlophone on 27 April 2015 and Warner Bros. Records on 28 April 2015. It was the band's first studio album in 12 years since Think Tank (2003), marking the longest gap between studio albums in Blur's career, and the first in 16 years since 13 (1999) to have featured the original line-up. The album also marks the return of the band's longtime producer Stephen Street following Blur (1997).
