Ronny Clyde Aloema (born 18 October 1979) [2] is a Surinamese politician and former football goalkeeper. [3] He has served as a member of the National Assembly since 7 August 2020,representing Paramaribo District for the Progressive Reform Party (VHP).
As a footballer,Aloema played at the club level in Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago,and for Suriname at the international level.
Aloema played for SV Voorwaarts between 2002 and 2006,before signing for SV Transvaal in 2007. He signed for Trinidadian TT Pro League club Tobago United in 2009,but returned to SV Transvaal the following year. In 2011,he moved to S.V. Robinhood.
Aloema made his debut for Suriname in 2008. His last appearance to date was a 2012 Caribbean Cup qualifying match against St Vincent &the Grenadines. [4] In addition to his 24 FIFA-recognised caps,Aloema played in three unofficial matches. Despite being a goalkeeper,he took penalty kicks for the national team,scoring twice in official matches and twice in unofficial matches. [4]
Aloema has also played for the Suriname national futsal team. [5]

Aloema has been active with the Progressive Reform Party (VHP) since 2017. [8] In the 2020 general election,he was part of the VHP candidate list for Paramaribo District. He was sworn in as a member of the National Assembly on 7 August 2020,one of three replacements for VHP ministers in the new government. He spoke beforehand of his intentions to promote sports and entrepreneurship. [9] [10]
Sport Vereniging Transvaal is a Surinamese association football club,which plays in the top of football in Suriname. They play their home games in Paramaribo at AndréKamperveen Stadion to a capacity of 7,100.
The Guyana national football team,nicknamed the Golden Jaguars,represents Guyana in international football and is controlled by the Guyana Football Federation. It is one of three South American nations to be a member of the Caribbean Football Union of CONCACAF alongside Suriname and French Guiana. Until the independence of Guyana (1966),it competed as British Guiana. They qualified for the Caribbean Nations Cup in 1991,coming fourth,and in 2007. Guyana has never qualified for the FIFA World Cup,but on 23 March 2019 they qualified for the first time for the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Humbert Ronald Boerleider,known as Boelie,was a Surinamese football manager and player who played as a midfielder in the Surinamese Hoofdklasse for S.V. Transvaal. He also played one season in the SVB Derde Klasse for V.V. Ajax before returning to Transvaal. He was an assistant coach for Fortuna Sittard in the Netherlands,and managed S.V. Transvaal and the Suriname national team for the nations 1974 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign.
Armand Sahadewsing was a former Surinamese football player and manager who has played for S.V. Transvaal in the Surinamese Hoofdklasse,and for AFC DWS in the Dutch Eredivisie. He also played for the Suriname national team and later managed the team for the country's 1982 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign.
Siegfried Haltman,known as Siki,was a Surinamese football player who played for S.V. Robinhood,América Futebol Clube (PE),Baltimore Bays,AZ'67 and for the Suriname national team during the span of his career. In 1964 he won the Surinamese Footballer of the Year award,becoming the first recipient of the award since its inception.
Roy Vanenburg is a Surinamese football manager and former player,who was last manager of Hoofdklasse club Transvaal. He spent most of his professional playing career with S.V. Transvaal,winning six Hoofdklasse titles,and two CONCACAF Champions Cups,finishing as the league top scorer in both 1968 and in 1971. He had previously played for H.V.V. and S.V. Robinhood before joining Transvaal in 1967.
