Rony Gardner was an Olympian and field hockey player from Pakistan. He played two matches for Pakistan's National Field Hockey Team. [1] He was part of the Pakistani national team during the 1960 Summer Olympics where Pakistan won the gold medal after defeating India.

Raghbir Singh Bhola was an Indian Airforce Officer and international hockey player who represented India in the 1956 Melbourne and 1960 Rome Olympics, winning a gold and silver medal respectively for the country. He was also awarded the Arjuna Award for his contributions to Indian Hockey in 2000.

The Pakistan national field hockey team represents Pakistan in international field hockey since its first match in 1948. It is administered by the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF), the governing body for hockey in Pakistan. They have been a member of the International Hockey Federation (FIH) since 1948 and founding member of the Asian Hockey Federation (ASHF) which formed in 1958.

Ali Iqtidar Shah Dara was an Indian and later Pakistani field hockey player and the longest-serving hockey manager who competed in the 1936 Summer Olympics and the 1948 Summer Olympics.

The National Olympic Committee of Pakistan was created in 1948. Pakistan first participated in the Olympic Games in 1948 in London, and has sent athletes to compete in every Summer Olympic Games since then, except for when they participated in the American-led boycott of the 1980 Summer Olympics in Soviet Union.

Prithipal Singh Indian field hockey player

Prithipal Singh was an Indian field hockey player nicknamed the “King of short corner” by hockey commentators. He participated in the Olympic field hockey three times and each time he scored the highest number of goals as a single player. Singh was a player with sharp reflexes, and the tremendous strength in his long and powerful arms produced firm and sticking shots which unfailingly fetched him goals and often the winners. The Evening Post, New Zealand commented in 1961 that to face the fury of Prithipal's hit is to risk one's life. Another author commented that if Arjuna was the maharathi of the Mahabharata war, Prithipal was the maharathi of the International Hockey game. The first-ever Arjuna Award to a hockey player was conferred upon him in 1961, which was later followed by the Padma Shri in 1967. Singh won Olympic medals in Rome, Tokyo and Mexico.

P. R. Sreejesh Indian field hockey player

Parattu Raveendran Sreejesh is an Indian professional field hockey player who plays as a goalkeeper and former captain of the Indian national team. He plays in the Hockey India League for Uttar Pradesh Wizards. Sreejesh played a vital role in the Indian national team's bronze medal win at the 2020 Summer Olympics men's field hockey tournament. He won FIH Player of the Year Awards (2020-21) for best male goalkeeper.

Abdul Hamid Hamidi was a field hockey player from Pakistan. He was born in Bannu. He won silver medal in 1956 Summer Olympics and gold medal in 1960 Summer Olympics.

Habib Ali Kiddie was a Pakistani field hockey player from 1950 to 1964. He played in the Pakistan national team at the 1952, 1956 and 1960 Summer Olympics, winning one gold medal and one silver medal. Habib Ali Kiddie died in 1982 at age 53.

Qazi Salahuddin was a former Pakistani Olympian & field hockey player from Pakistan. He played for Pakistan's National Field Hockey Team from 1967–69. He was part of Pakistan National Team in 1968 Summer Olympics where Pakistan team took the gold medal after defeating Australia in the Final by 2-1 in Mexico City, Mexico. Salahuddin has also served as coach of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa women hockey team.
