The Rose Memorial Auditorium (Rose Memorial or Rose) is a large multi-purpose theater (auditorium) on the campus of Central Philippine University in Jaro, Iloilo City. Rose is the largest auditorium and theater in Western Visayas with a seating capacity of 4000 and has hosted several international and local concerts, conventions and events from known from music groups and singers, and as well as conventions and summits of known public servants and organizations.
It was built as a memorial in honor of Francis H. Rose, one of American founding fathers of Central Philippine University along with the Hopevale Martyrs who died during the World War II.
The present day structure was built in the 1990s after the old one was burned down by fire. Recently, the Cultural Center of the Philippines has designated the Rose Memorial Auditorium for three-year Memorandum of Understanding, as one of the first batch of nine Cultural Center of the Philippines Regional Art Centers or Kaisa sa Sining Regional Art Centers in 2014. With the exception of Rose's concerts, it also serves as the venue for religious convocations of Central Philippine University and the biennial convention of the Convention of Philippine Baptist Churches.
Since the 1990s, when the new Rose Memorial was opened to the public for university use at Central Philippine University, it has become a prominent venue in Iloilo for performances by notable international and local bands (rock, pop, acoustic, and group), recording artists/singers, as well as other music groups. Additionally, it serves as a host for symposiums, summits, and conventions for public servants and organizations.

Western Visayas is an administrative region in the Philippines, numerically designated as Region VI. It consists of six provinces and two highly urbanized cities. The regional center is Iloilo City. Central Philippine University, also known as Central or CPU, is a private research university located in Jaro, Iloilo City, Philippines. It was established in 1905 through the benevolent grant of the American industrialist and philanthropist John D. Rockefeller. It is the first Baptist and second-American founded university in the Philippines and Asia. The university was initially known as the Jaro Industrial School and Bible School, under the supervision of the American Baptist Foreign Mission Society.
Zsazsa Zaturnnah is a fictional comic book superheroine created by Filipino illustrator and graphic designer Carlo Vergara. The character first appeared in the Filipino graphic novel, Ang Kagila-gilalas na Pakikipagsapalaran ni Zsazsa Zaturnnah, originally a self-published work in December 2002 consisting of two parts. The Hiligaynon people, often referred to as Ilonggo people or Panayan people, are the second largest subgroup of the larger Visayan ethnic group, whose primary language is Hiligaynon, an Austronesian language of the Visayan branch native to Panay, Guimaras, and Negros. They originated in the province of Iloilo, on the island of Panay, in the region of Western Visayas. Over the years, inter-migrations and intra-migrations have contributed to the diaspora of the Hiligaynon to different parts of the Philippines. Today, the Hiligaynon, apart from the province of Iloilo, also form the majority in the provinces of Guimaras, Negros Occidental, Capiz, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, and North Cotabato.
Jaro is a district in Iloilo City, Philippines, located on Panay Island in the Western Visayas region. It is the largest district in terms of both area and population, with 130,700 people according to the 2020 census. Jaro merged with Iloilo City in the 1940s during the American administration in the Philippines. It is also the largest among the seven districts of Iloilo City. La Paz district and the present municipalities of Leganes and Pavia were historically part of Jaro before becoming independent.
The Cultural Center of the Philippines is a government-owned and controlled corporation established to preserve, develop and promote arts and culture in the Philippines. The CCP was established through Executive Order No. 30 s. 1966 by President Ferdinand Marcos. The Iloilo Mission Hospital, also known as Central Philippine University–Iloilo Mission Hospital, CPU–Iloilo Mission Hospital, CPU–IMH, or IMH, is a private tertiary, academic, and Baptist teaching hospital in Jaro, Iloilo City, Philippines. Established in 1901 by American missionary doctor Joseph Andrew Hall, it is the oldest American founded hospital in the country. In 1905, it was named Sabine Haines Memorial Union Mission Hospital through a grant from Charles Haines. It became the first hospital for soldiers and constabulary during the American regime and later changed its name to Union Mission Hospital in 1907 when the Baptists joined the Presbyterians in administering the hospital. It was ceded to the American Baptist Foreign Mission Society in 1925 and moved to its present site in the City of Jaro in 1931, becoming the Iloilo Mission Hospital in 1932.
Hiligaynon, also often referred to as Ilonggo or Binisaya/Bisaya nga Hiniligaynon/Inilonggo, is an Austronesian regional language spoken in the Philippines by about 9.1 million people, predominantly in Western Visayas and Soccsksargen, most of whom belong to the Hiligaynon people. It is the second-most widely spoken language in the Visayas and belongs to the Bisayan languages, and it is more distantly related to other Philippine languages.
