Career

Abbas studied at Hindu College, University of Delhi, graduating with a BA degree in 1992, and completed Mass Communication from AJK Mass communication Jamia Millia Islamia in New Delhi. He started Encompass in 1996, which grew from a creative event agency to an experiential marketing agency that is now aligned with the JWT network. [1]

As a radio jockey he created over 3,000 hours of radio programming, winning four awards at the Radio and Television Artiste Awards in India. [2] [3] Having had a career as a TV host for shows like Family Fortunes , Born Lucky , and This Is Your Life , he was named Best TV Game Show Host for Family Fortunes in 2001. [4] Abbas served on the promo jury for Cannes Lions 2008. [5]

In 2009, Abbas directed a film based on an adaptation of a play about high school called Graffiti that he had written and directed back in 1999. The lines for the film were written in 2003, with the help of his co-writer, Ranjit Raina. [6] The film is based on Delhi's school life and was filmed in Delhi, Mumbai and Lucknow. [7] [8]

Abbas, along with Gaurav Kapur and Ankur Tewari, founded Kommune, a Mumbai-based performance arts collective. [9]

Personal life

Roshan is married to Shaheen, and has a son and a daughter. [10] Shaheen Abbas is a jewelry designer based in Mumbai.[ citation needed ]

Delhi-6 is a 2009 Indian Hindi-language drama film directed by Rakesh Omprakash Mehra. The film stars Abhishek Bachchan as an NRI who arrives in India with his ailing grandmother and begins discovering his roots before getting embroiled in a religious dispute involving a mysterious monkey-like attacker. The film co-stars Sonam Kapoor, Aditi Rao Hydari, Rishi Kapoor, Supriya Pathak, Atul Kulkarni, Pavan Malhotra, Deepak Dobriyal, Divya Dutta, Vijay Raaz and Om Puri. It marks the Hindi film debut of Rao Hydari. The number 6 refers to the Postal Index Number (PIN) of the Chandni Chowk area of Old Delhi, a shortened form of 110006. It is Mehra's third film after Aks (2001) and Rang De Basanti (2006). The film's soundtrack, composed by A. R. It combines Hindi and English, literally meaning This Heart Desires More, which later became a popular slogan. The slogan and its derivatives have been used in multiple contexts in India. The worldwide Pepsi commercial featuring the song, Ask for More, written by Janet Jackson was released in November 2007, later released a single in January 2008.

Just Dance is an Indian television dance-reality series on Star Plus. The series is judged by well-known Bollywood film actor Hrithik Roshan along with choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant and film director Farah Khan. Hrithik Roshan rehearsed for 5 hours a day for 5 days to shoot for the promotional video of the series, which is choreographed by shows judge, Vaibhavi Merchant. It premiered on 18 June 2011 at 9 PM in India and aired every Saturday and Sunday until 1 October 2011.
