Roshan Basheer (born 28 June 1991) is an Indian actor, [2] who appears in Malayalam, Telugu, and Tamil language films. He is best known for his role as Varun Prabhakar in the 2013 drama-thriller film Drishyam .

Career

Roshan made his acting debut by playing one of the lead roles in the Malayalam coming-of-age film, Plus Two (2010). [3] Later, he did films such as Banking Hours (2012), [4] Tourist Home (2013) [5] and Red Wine (2013). [6] Roshan Basheer then portrayed the pivotal villainous character in Jeethu Joseph's successful Drishyam (2013), [7] [8] before being selected to reprise his role in the film's Telugu version Drushyam (2014) [9] and then the Tamil version, Papanasam (2015) featuring Kamal Haasan. [10] [11]

Post the success of both films, Roshan Basheer appeared in further lead role in films including Kubera Rashi [12] [13] and Moondru Rasigargal. He is still pursuing mobies in the Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam movie industries. [14]

Shaji John, professionally credited by his stage name Kalabhavan Shajohn is an Indian actor, director and comedian who works primarily in Malayalam cinema. Making his debut in 1999 with My Dear Karadi and having made more than 90 appearances, he received a major breakthrough in his career with Drishyam (2013), in which he played a negative role. He made his directorial debut with Brother's Day starring Prithviraj. As of June 2021, he has starred in more than 130 Malayalam films.

Drishyam (transl. Visual) is a 2013 Indian Malayalam-language crime thriller film written and directed by Jeethu Joseph. It stars Mohanlal, Meena, Ansiba Hassan, Esther Anil, Asha Sharath, Siddique, Kalabhavan Shajohn, Roshan Basheer and Neeraj Madhav. The film was produced by Antony Perumbavoor under Aashirvad Cinemas. A sequel titled Drishyam 2 was released in 2021. The film follows the struggle of Georgekutty and his family, who come under suspicion when Varun Prabhakar, the son of the IG Geetha Prabhakar, goes missing.

Drushyam (transl. Visual) is a 2014 Indian Telugu-language crime thriller film directed by Sripriya and jointly produced by D. Suresh Babu and Rajkumar Sethupathi.
