Baba Roshan Jurangpathy (born 25 June 1967) is a Sri Lankan former Test cricketer. He played his debut Test against India in 1985 at Asgiriya Stadium. India's Mohinder Amarnath was his only Test wicket. [1] He played in only two Test matches,and finished his career with a batting average of 0.25. [2]
Deshabandu Warnakulasuriya Patabendige Ushantha Gerald Joseph Chaminda Vaas is a former Sri Lankan international cricketer,who played all forms of the game,and a former ODI captain who is often described as the greatest fast medium bowler Sri Lanka has produced,due to his highly accurate lines,lengths and capability of swinging the ball. Vaas currently holds the record for the best bowling figures in ODI history,and is the only bowler to take an 8-wicket haul in ODIs.

He was officially rated in the top three current batsmen in the world in all three formats of the game at various stages of his international career. He is the current coach of Rajasthan Royals IPL team. Sangakkara scored 28,016 runs in international cricket across all formats in a career that spanned 15 years. At retirement,he was the second-highest run-scorer in ODI cricket,next only to Sachin Tendulkar,and the sixth-highest run scorer in Test cricket.
Tillakaratne Mudiyanselage Dilshan,commonly known as TM Dilshan is a former Sri Lankan cricketer and former captain of the Sri Lanka national cricket team. He is often regarded as the best rated Sri Lankan player in run-chases in ODI history and one of the most innovative players of all time. Dilshan is considered to be a rare example of a cricketer with notable skills in all aspects of the game,who can bat,bowl,field and keep wicket. He is an aggressive right-hand batsman who invented the scoop,which has come to be known as the Dilscoop,a shot that hits the ball over the keeper. Apart from being an opening batsman,he is also a capable off-break bowler. Energetic in the field,he usually fielded at the point region.
Russel Premakumaran Arnold,or Russel Arnold,is a former Sri Lankan cricketer of Tamil descent,who played all forms of the game. He played as the finisher role in the Sri Lankan team batting down the order at international level. Arnold currently works as an international commentator. He was the first Twenty20 International cap for Sri Lanka as he was part of Sri Lanka's first ever T20I team. He retired from cricket in 2007 after playing the final in 2007 ICC Cricket World Cup.
Herath Mudiyanselage Rangana Keerthi Bandara Herath,known as Rangana Herath,is a former Sri Lankan cricketer,who played all forms of the game and a former Test captain for Sri Lanka. Herath is the most successful left arm bowler in Test cricket history. He is currently working as spin bowling consultant with the Bangladesh cricket team.
Denagamage Praboth Mahela de Silva Jayawardene is a former Sri Lankan cricketer who is the current consultant coach of the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team and the Head Coach of the Indian Premier League franchise Mumbai Indians. He is the most successful captain for Sri Lanka along with Sanath Jayasuriya. During the time of his captaincy,he was known mainly for his tactical acumen for decades and was rewarded for his captaincy instincts.
Deshabandu Roshan Siriwardene Mahanama is a former Sri Lankan cricketer and a former ICC match referee. He was a key member for 1996 Cricket World Cup winning team for Sri Lanka. He is the first man to have stood as a match referee in a day-night test match in Test history.
KD Singh Babu Stadium,formerly known as the Central Sports Stadium,is a multi-purpose stadium named after the famous hockey player K. D. Singh. The stadium was established in 1957 and it is located near the busy Hazratganj area of downtown Lucknow,in the heart of the city. it has a seating capacity of 25,000 and does not support floodlights for day night matches. The R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium(RPS) is a cricket stadium on Khettarama Road,Maligawatta,Colombo,Sri Lanka. The stadium was,before June 1994,known as the Khettarama Cricket Stadium and is today one of the main venues where the Sri Lankan cricket team play,having hosted more than 100 one day international matches. It is the largest stadium in Sri Lanka with a capacity of 35,000 spectators. It has hosted the 2012 ICC World Twenty20 final between Sri Lanka and West Indies;the 2002 ICC Champions Trophy final between Sri Lanka and India and first semi final of the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup between Sri Lanka and New Zealand. This was where the highest Test score in the history was recorded;952 by Sri Lanka against India. With capacity exceeding Lord's in England,the stadium is known as the "home of Sri Lankan cricket".
The Indian cricket team toured Sri Lanka in August 1997,participating in two Test matches and three One Day International (ODI) matches. During the first Test match,Sri Lanka scored 952 runs for 6 wickets,the highest team total in Test cricket. Several more records were established in this match,including the highest partnership for the second wicket by Sanath Jayasuriya and Roshan Mahanama. The Test series ended without a result,with both Test matches drawn.

Deshabandu Pinnaduwage Aravinda de Silva is a former Sri Lankan cricketer and captain,who has also played in English county cricket. de Silva helped Sri Lanka to win the 1996 Cricket World Cup and brought Sri Lanka from underdog status to present-day form. He has held various posts in Sri Lankan Cricket after his retirement in 2003.
Aththachchi Nuwan Pradeep Roshan Fernando,commonly known as Nuwan Pradeep,is a professional Sri Lankan cricketer. Despite being a national cricketer,he had never actually played the game until he was 20 and most importantly never played with leather ball until his 20s. He shot into prominence after winning a bowling speed contest in 2007 and he was sent to Sri Lanka's Cricket Academy and also went onto earn a national test call up less than 3 years later. He is regarded as the most unconventional find of Sri Lanka cricket.
The Sri Lanka national cricket team toured India during the 1997–98 cricket season,playing three Test matches and three One Day Internationals (ODIs). Both series were drawn;all three Tests were draws,and each side won one of the ODIs,tying the series 1–1. The other ODI,which was held on 25 December,was abandoned after three overs had been bowled,when after discussion between the two captains and the match referee,it was determined that the inconsistent bounce of the pitch was too dangerous for the players. This was the first occasion on which an international cricket match had been called off for this reason.
