Rosie and the Goldbug was the eponymous debut album by Rosie and the Goldbug, released on September 15, 2008, on the band manager's label, Lover Records. [1] It was produced by Jim Eliot of electropop duo Kish Mauve [2] and mixed by Dave Bascombe.

The album contains a number of tracks co-written with other artists, including Marcella Detroit, formerly of Shakespear's Sister, Dante Gizzi and Giuliano Gizzi of the Glasgow bands El Presidente and Gun [2] and Ashley Pope from UK dance duo NAPT.
Marcella Detroit is an American soprano vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter. She co-wrote the 1977 Eric Clapton hit "Lay Down Sally" and released her debut album Marcella in 1982. She joined Shakespears Sister in 1988 with ex-Bananarama member Siobhan Fahey. Their first two albums, Sacred Heart (1989), and Hormonally Yours (1992), both reached the top 10 of the UK Albums Chart. Detroit sang the lead vocals on their biggest hit, "Stay", which spent eight consecutive weeks at number one on the UK Singles Chart in 1992. Detroit left the band in 1993 and had a UK top 20 hit with "I Believe" in 1994. She formed the Marcy Levy Band in 2002, and finished third in the 2010 ITV series Popstar to Operastar.
El Presidente was a pop rock band from Glasgow, Scotland. Formed in 2002 by Gun member Dante Gizzi, the band gained major exposure with slots at T in the Park 2005, V Festival 2005 and again at T in the Park in 2006. The band have also supported Oasis, Duran Duran, Simple Minds and Kasabian on major tours of the UK.
Gun is a hard rock band from Glasgow, Scotland. They are best known for the song "Better Days" as well as their cover of Cameo's "Word Up!".
It was to remain the band's only album; the band broke up in 2009. Singer/keyboardist Rosie Vanier has gone on to start a solo project.
Rosie Vanier is a British singer and keyboard player from Cornwall. She was a founding member and the front woman of Rosie and the Goldbug; following the break-up of the band in 2009, she embarked on a solo career, and went on to form the trio Lightknife in 2014.
