Royal Greens Golf & Country Club is a golf club located in King Abdullah Economic City, around 100 km north of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. It has hosted tournaments on the European Tour, Asian Tour, the Ladies European Tour, [1] [2] and LIV Golf. [3]

History

The 18-hole championship golf course, playing to a 72 par and a maximum length of just over 7,000 yards, officially opened in September 2017. It sits on the Red Sea coast and was designed by European Golf Design (EGD) and is managed by Troon Golf, the world's largest operator of competition grade courses. [4] [5]

The club has hosted several international championships, including the Saudi International on the European Tour and later the Asian Tour, and the Saudi Ladies International and Saudi Ladies Team International on the Ladies European Tour. [6]

LIV Golf is a professional men's golf tour. The name "LIV" refers to the Roman numerals for 54, the score if every hole on a par-72 course were birdied and the number of holes to be played at LIV events. The first LIV Golf Invitational Series event started on 9 June 2022, at the Centurion Club near St Albans in Hertfordshire, UK. The Invitational Series became the LIV Golf League in 2023.

Michele Thomson is a Scottish professional golfer who plays on the Ladies European Tour (LET). She was runner-up in the 2017 Hero Women's Indian Open and won the team event of the 2020 Saudi Ladies Team International.

LIV Golf Jeddah is a professional golf tournament sponsored by LIV Golf in Saudi Arabia, held at Royal Greens Golf & Country Club in King Abdullah Economic City, north of Jeddah. It debuted in October 2023. The first two events were also co-sponsored by the MENA Tour.
