The 2023 Asian Tour was the 28th season of the modern Asian Tour (formerly the Asian PGA Tour), the main professional golf tour in Asia (outside of Japan) since it was established in 1995.

Changes for 2023

New tournaments for the 2023 season included the International Series Oman, [1] the International Series Qatar, [2] the World City Championship in Hong Kong, [3] the International Series Vietnam [4] and the St Andrews Bay Championship played at Fairmont St Andrews in Scotland (the first Asian Tour event to be staged in Scotland). [5]

The SJM Macao Open also returned to the schedule for the first time since 2017. [6]

Two events from the 2020–22 Asian Development Tour schedule were upgraded to events on the 2023 Asian Tour schedule. They included the Taiwan Glass Taifong Open [7] and the Saudi Open. [8]

The season marked a switch of format in the Order of Merit, which saw it become a points-based system, rather than based on money earned. [9]

Order of Merit

The Order of Merit was based on tournament results during the season, calculated using a points-based system. [12] [13]

International Series Order of Merit

The International Series Order of Merit was based on prize money won during the International Series, calculated in U.S. dollars. [14] [13] The leading player on the International Series Order of Merit earned status to play in the 2024 LIV Golf League. [15]

Charl Adriaan Schwartzel is a South African professional golfer who currently plays in the LIV Golf Invitational Series and has previously played on the PGA Tour, European Tour and the Sunshine Tour. He has won one major title, the Masters in 2011. Schwartzel's highest world ranking has been number six, after finishing in a tie for fourth at the WGC-Cadillac Championship in 2012.

The Macau Open is a men's professional golf tournament on the Asian Tour which takes place in Macau. It was founded in 1998. The venue is the Macau Golf and Country Club at Coloane. Past winners including international stars and multiple European Tour Order of Merit champions Colin Montgomerie and Lee Westwood, as well as 6-time European Tour winner Simon Dyson. In 2016, the purse was US$1,100,000.

The 2011 Asian Tour was the 17th season of the modern Asian Tour, the main professional golf tour in Asia since it was established in 1995.

The 1999 Asian PGA Tour, titled as the 1999 Davidoff Tour for sponsorship reasons, was the fifth season of the Asian PGA Tour, the main professional golf tour in Asia since it was established in 1995.

Scott Nicholas Vincent is a Zimbabwean professional golfer who plays on the Japan Golf Tour, Asian Tour and LIV Golf. He has won three times on the Japan Golf Tour.
