Nepal Sambat, also spelled as Nepala Sambata, is the lunisolar calendar used by the people of Nepal. The Calendar era began on 20 October 879 AD, with 1142 in Nepal Sambat corresponding to the year 2021–2022 AD. She acted in a youth-focused movie Visa Girl in 2012, and critically acclaimed 2014 film Talakjung vs Tulke. In 2015, she played the role of a cop in the featured film Zindagi Rocks. She is also one of the judges of Nepali comedy reality show Comedy Champion.

She represented Nepal at Miss World 2019 pageant held in the ExCeL London, London, United Kingdom on 14 December 2019. During Miss World 2019, she won the subtitle of Beauty with a Purpose, the Multimedia Award and also won her Head-to-Head Challenge. Shrestha is also Miss Nepal Oceania 2018 held at Australia. She also won the title of Miss Yamaha Fascino 2019 along with the another title Miss Intellect 2019. She was crowned by her predecessor Shrinkhala Khatiwada.

Miss Universe Nepal 2022 is the 3rd annual Miss Universe Nepal beauty pageant, held on 25 August 2022. At the end of the event, Sujita Basnet crowned Sophiya Bhujel as her successor. She is set to represent Nepal in the Miss Universe 2022.
Miss Grand Nepal is an annual female beauty pageant in Nepal, founded in 2016 by a Kathmandu-based businessperson Sazum Katwal of Looks Entertainment, aiming to select the country representative to compete at its parent international pageant Miss Grand International. The license of the contest was later transferred to RK Entertainment Group and Izodom Nepal & Cosmo Group in 2017 and 2019, respectively. However, even lost the contest license in 2019, the RK group has held the Miss Grand national contest annually to select the delegates for other international contests since then. Currently, the contest licensed by the Thai-parent platform was managed by Suresh Tamang.
