Rui Ninnian Saldanha (born 21 October 1947) is a British field hockey player. He competed in the men's tournament at the 1972 Summer Olympics. [1]
Saldanha, originally from Nairobi, Kenya, graduated from Durham University (Hatfield College) with a degree in Economics and Psychology in 1971 – his academic finals having been delayed for one year because of his commitments with the England hockey team and his election as President of the Durham University Athletic Union (DUAU). [2] [3]
Before applying to Hatfield College Saldanha spent one year as a student at London Hospital Medical College. [3]
In May 1989, Saldanha, now working for the New York Life Insurance Company at their office in Des Moines, Iowa, married Indian actress and former Miss India Persis Khambatta at the Polk County Courthouse. [4]

Keshav Chandra Dutt, also spelt as Keshav Datt, was an Indian field hockey player and played as a halfback. He was a part of the team that won gold medals at the 1948 and 1952 Olympics. He made 22 international appearances for India and scored two goals in his career. Keshav was the last surviving member of the Indian hockey team which participated at the 1948 London Olympic Games. He was regarded as one of the finest Indian hockey centre half-backs.

Ajit Pal Singh Kular was an Indian professional field hockey player from Sansarpur, Punjab. He was the captain of the Indian hockey team. He was conferred the Arjuna Award in 1970, and awarded it in 1972. He played at centre half position. He was captain of the Indian team at the Hockey World Cup 1975 held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Akhtar Rasool is a field hockey player, captain and olympian from Pakistan who won the gold medal with the Men's National Hockey Team at the Hockey World Cup 1978, and again in 1982. He played as Center Half for the Pakistan hockey team. Akhtar is considered one of the creative geniuses in centre-half recovery and ball distribution.

Chaudhry Ghulam RasulKamboh(1 May 1931 – 24 December 1991) was an educationist of Pakistan as well as a field hockey Olympic player. He was originally from Faisalabad District but later settled in Lahore. Rasool was an integral part of the Pakistani field hockey team from 1956 through 1963.
Rui Hachimura is a Japanese professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Gonzaga Bulldogs and has played for the Japan national team. He plays both the small forward and power forward positions. After being selected ninth overall by the Washington Wizards in the 2019 NBA draft, he was named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team in 2020.
