A Certain Scientific Railgun is a Japanese manga series written by Kazuma Kamachi and illustrated by Motoi Fuyukawa, which began serialization in the April 2007 issue of ASCII Media Works' Dengeki Daioh magazine. The manga is a spin-off of Kamachi's A Certain Magical Index light novel series, taking place before and during the events of that series. The manga is licensed in North America by Seven Seas Entertainment, who began publishing the series in June 2011. An anime television series adaptation by J.C. Staff aired in Japan between October 2009 and March 2010, followed by an original video animation released in October 2010. The season's first 52 episodes ran on Adult Swim's relaunched Toonami block in a completely uncut format from December 1, 2012 to November 30, 2013. "Gate " is a song recorded by Japanese rock Kisida Kyoudan & The Akebosi Rockets. It was released as the group's first single in two years by Warner Bros. Entertainment and their subsidiary label Warner Home Video on July 29, 2015. The lyrics were written by Kisida and the music and arrangement were created by the band. Musically, "Gate " is a rock song that features guitars, drums, and bass guitars in its instrumentation. An alternative version with different lyrics and slightly edited composition was released in January 2016, under the title "Gate II ".
