Uganda, officially the Republic of Uganda, is a landlocked country in East Africa. The country is bordered to the east by Kenya, to the north by South Sudan, to the west by the Democratic Republic of the Congo, to the south-west by Rwanda, and to the south by Tanzania. The southern part of the country includes a substantial portion of Lake Victoria, shared with Kenya and Tanzania. Ruth Negga is an Irish actress known for her roles in the AMC television series Preacher (2016–2019) and the film Loving (2016). For her portrayal of Mildred Loving in the latter, Negga received a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actress. They played their first matches as part of a triangular series that also involved Kenya and Kenya's A side in January 2006. UTel acquired the assets and some of the liabilities of the defunct Uganda Telecom Limited (UTL) which was also owned by the Ugandan government. UTL was previously in receivership which it entered after the Libyan company that owned about 69 percent shares abandoned the investment in 2017.

The Uganda women's cricket team toured Nepal in May 2022 to play a five-match bilateral Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) series. All of the matches in the series were played at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur. These were the first Women's T20I matches played at Kirtipur. The series was used by Uganda as preparation for the 2022 Kwibuka Tournament.
Al-Shabab Women Football Club, commonly referred to as Al-Shabab Ladies, is a Saudi women's football club based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The club plays in the Saudi Women's Premier League, the top tier of Saudi women's football. Back in 2019, the Storm WFC was established in alignment with the evolving landscape of women's rights in the kingdom.
