Ryan Lian Yong Yi (born 4 September 1985) is a Singaporean actor, singer and host.
Lian is managed by J Team productions under mm2 Entertainment. [1]
Lian had been taking on minor roles in Mediacorp dramas for more than 15 years before he made his film debut in director Jack Neo's movie Long Long Time Ago and Long Long Time Ago 2 as Ah Long and this was the first time he was one of the main leads. [2]
In a Singaporean crime show titled In Cold Blood , Lian portrayed "Koh", who was based on Lee Chez Kee, a Malaysian who killed an NUS associate professor during a robbery in 1993 before spending 13 years as a fugitive; Lee committed the crime with two other men, who were both arrested in 1998. Lee, who was arrested and convicted of the murder in 2006, was executed by the time the episode aired in 2012. [3]
In 2017, Lian was featured in Take 2 and Ah Boys to Men 4 , where he was the first main lead in the former film and reprises his role as Ah Long in the latter film.

Liang Po Po: The Movie (梁婆婆重出江湖) is a Singaporean comedy film directed by Teng Bee Lian in 1999. It starred the comedian director Jack Neo himself, who cross-dresses as the titular character, whose name in English is translated as "Grandma Neo".

Ah Boys to Men is a 2012 Singaporean military comedy film produced and directed by Jack Neo, written by Neo and Link Sng. The main plot revolves around a group of army recruits in National service in Singapore. Neo had wanted to shoot an army-themed film since his army days, but could not find a suitable chance to do so. This film is also the first local film to be released in two parts and the first to film in Pulau Tekong, as well as the first South-East Asian film to feature Dolby Atmos surround sound. The film's theme song, "Recruits' Anthem" was written and composed by one of the cast, Tosh Zhang.

On 26 August 1998, 50-year-old Tan Eng Yan, a fruit stall assistant working at a market in Tampines, was found brutally murdered at the toilet of her Tampines flat. Tan, also known as Lily or Tan Ah Leng, was stabbed and slashed 58 times and four of the knife wounds were fatal. Her money, amounting to over S$2,200 in cash and S$6,000 in coins, were also being stolen from her flat. It took five days before the police arrested a fishmonger named Lau Lee Peng, who was a close friend of Tan, after he confessed during witness questioning that he killed Tan and led the police to where he hid the money.
Life imprisonment is a legal penalty in Singapore. This sentence is applicable for more than forty offences under Singapore law, such as culpable homicide not amounting to murder, attempted murder, kidnapping by ransom, criminal breach of trust by a public servant, voluntarily causing grievous hurt with dangerous weapons, and trafficking of firearms, in addition to caning or a fine for certain offences that warrant life imprisonment.
