Ryan Weisenberg (born January 21, 1975) [1] is an American basketball coach who was the head coach of the Pepperdine Waves women's basketball team from 2012 to 2017. [2]
Weisenberg attended St. Francis High School in La Cañada Flintridge, California, where he lettered in basketball, football, and baseball. Weisenberg attended Azusa Pacific University, receiving a master in education, and attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, receiving a Bachelor of Science.
Weisenberg began his coaching career in 1995 at Mission Prep High School in San Luis Obispo. Two years later, he spent some time as an assistant coach, video scout, and basketball camp director at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. He spent five years as head coach for South Pasadena High School's boy's varsity basketball.
After five years at South Pasadena, Weisenberg was hired as an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Sparks under coach Michael Cooper. After Cooper resigned in 2004, Weisenberg and Karleen Thompson were co-head coaches before leaving the Sparks. Then, Weisenberg worked for the Los Angeles Lakers as an assistant video coordinator and player scout.
Weisenberg taught world history at Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana and was the varsity girls head basketball coach. Ryan also taught part-time 6th grade history at St. Mark's Lutheran School in Hacienda Heights. Additionally, he is the former assistant coach for the Houston Comets.
On January 6, 2010, Weisenberg was confirmed as the new coach of the Manawatu Jets. [3] The team are based in Palmerston North, New Zealand and play in the NBL. He coached the Jets for 3 seasons before departing the team in 2012. [4]
Weisenberg was hired at Pepperdine University in 2012 and coached the team until 2017.
Weisenberg is married to the former Lyndsey Hache.

In 2024, it was announced that Cooper would be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Following his Hall of Fame announcement, it was announced on August 15, 2024 that Cooper would have his No. 21 retired by the Lakers on January 13, 2025.

The Cal Poly Mustang Band, also known as The Pride of the Pacific, is the official marching band of California Polytechnic State University in the city of San Luis Obispo, California. Although the band is not a competitive marching band they serve as a school spirit organization. The band functions in two different forms throughout the year. In the fall the band marches as The Mustang Marching Band and during Cal Poly's winter quarter they function as a pep band. The band attends many athletic events during the year to encourage the school's athletic teams and audience support/involvement. The marching band is well-known around campus as an exciting and spirited group that brings pep, passion, and tradition to every performance. The marching band is conducted by three directors: Christopher J. Woodruff, Nicholas P. Waldron, and Len Kawamoto.

He was the head football coach at Southern Utah University in 1996, at California Polytechnic State University from 2001 to 2008, and the United States Military Academy from 2009 to 2013. While at Cal Poly, Ellerson's teams won three conference championships and compiled a 56–34 record, giving him the third highest winning percentage of any football coach in school history.

The Waves, members of the West Coast Conference, were led by new head coach Ryan Weisenberg. The Waves played their home games at the Firestone Fieldhouse on the university campus in Malibu, California. They would finish the season 6–25 and in tenth place in the WCC, but they did advance to the WCC Quarterfinals after pulling a 1st Round upset.

Led by Howie O'Daniels, who returned for his tenth season as head coach after having helmed the team from 1933 to 1941, Cal Poly compiled an overall record of 6–2–1 with a mark of 1–1 in conference play, placing in a three-way tie for second in the CCAA. The team outscored their opponents 152 to 88 for the season. The Mustangs played home games at Mustang Stadium in San Luis Obispo, California.
