Ryszard Roman Kalisz (born 26 February 1957 in Warsaw) is a Polish lawyer, [1] left-wing politician,former member of the Democratic Left Alliance party. In early years he joined the Socialist Union of Polish Students,where he was deputy director of the Main Auditing Committee. He was a member of the Polish United Workers' Party from 1978 until its dissolution in 1990.
He was the Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration in the cabinet of Marek Belka. [2] Kalisz was elected to the Sejm on 25 September 2005,getting 36,013 votes in the 19th Warsaw district,campaigning from the Democratic Left Alliance list.
He is also a member of the Sejm 2001–2005.
He divorced in 2009. With his new wife Dominika,they have two children:Antoniusz (his step son) and Fryderyk (b. 2015).

Warsaw I,officially known as Constituency no. 19,is one of the 41 constituencies of the Sejm,the lower house of the Parliament of Poland,the national legislature of Poland. The constituency was established as Constituency no. 1 in 1991 following the re-organisation of constituencies across Poland. It was renamed Sejm Constituency no. 19 in 2001 following another nationwide re-organisation of constituencies. It is conterminous with the city of Warsaw. Electors living abroad or working aboard ships and oil rigs are included in this constituency. The constituency currently elects 20 of the 460 members of the Sejm using the open party-list proportional representation electoral system. At the 2023 parliamentary election it had 1,993,723 registered electors.

Presidential elections were held in Poland on 10 and 24 May 2015. In the first round of voting Law and Justice (PiS) candidate,lawyer and Member of the European Parliament,Andrzej Duda received the greatest number of votes with a share of 34.76%,followed by incumbent president Bronisław Komorowski,who ran as an independent with the endorsement of the Civic Platform (PO),which he had renounced his membership in after winning the 2010 elections. Independent candidate PawełKukiz came third with 20.80% of the votes. As no candidate had received more than 50% of the votes cast,a second round was held on 24 May between the two highest-placed candidates,Duda and Komorowski. This round was won by Duda with 51.5% of the votes,to Komorowski's 48.5%.
