Ryszard Antoni Marczak (born 25 November 1945 in Gdynia, Pomorskie) is a Polish former long-distance runner who represented his native country at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, USSR. He set his personal best (2:11:35) in the classic distance in 1981.

Kate O'Mara was an English film, stage and television actress, and writer. O'Mara made her stage debut in a 1963 production of The Merchant of Venice. Her other stage roles included Elvira in Blithe Spirit (1974), Lady Macbeth in Macbeth (1982), Cleopatra in Antony & Cleopatra (1982), Goneril in King Lear (1987) and Marlene Dietrich in Lunch with Marlene (2008).

The Patagonian mara is a relatively large rodent in the mara genus Dolichotis. It is also known as the Patagonian cavy or Patagonian hare. This herbivorous, somewhat rabbit-like animal is found in open and semiopen habitats in Argentina, including large parts of Patagonia. A population has also been recorded in the northern United Arab Emirates, possibly as a result of escaped pets or captive animals. It is monogamous, but often breeds in warrens shared by several pairs.

Øyvind Dahl is a retired Norwegian long-distance runner. He represented IL i BUL. At the European Championships he finished fifteenth in 10,000 metres in 1978 and ninth in marathon in 1982. He also competed at the 1983 World Championships and the 1984 Summer Olympics as well as the World Cross Country Championships in 1979, 1980 and 1983 without success. He became Norwegian champion in 10,000 m in 1981.
Robin Evan Hugh Jones is a retired British long-distance runner. He was born in London, and attended Latymer Upper School in Hammersmith, where he began competing in long-distance running both for the school and for Ranelagh Harriers, and the University of Liverpool.

Rodolfo Gómez Orozco is a Mexican former long-distance runner who was one of the leading runners represented from Mexico in the 1970s and 1980s. He won the Tokyo Marathon (1981), the IAAF Citizen Golden Marathon in Athens (1982), the Rotterdam Marathon (1982), the Nike OTC Marathon (1982), the Pittsburgh Marathon (1987) and the Mexico City Marathon (1987). He gained prominence on American television in 1982 when he finished in second place, four seconds back in 2:09:33 while being the primary foil to Alberto Salazar's third victory in a row at the New York Marathon. He ran a personal best of 2:09:12 at the 1983 Tokyo Marathon, finishing third in that race.

Inge Simonsen is a Norwegian distance runner who tied for first place in the inaugural 1981 London Marathon. In that race, he and the other winner, American Dick Beardsley, intentionally crossed the finish line, in 2:11:48, holding hands in a dead heat. According to Beardsley, "It was a big deal for both of us because neither one of us had won a marathon before."
The MARA Technological University is a public university based primarily in Shah Alam, Selangor. It was established to help rural Malays in 1956 as the RIDA Training Centre, and opened with around 50 students. It has since grown into the largest institution of higher education in Malaysia as measured by physical infrastructure, faculty and staff, and student enrollment.
