S. M. Abdul Mannan (born 15 December 1951) [1] is a Jatiya Party (Ershad) politician and a former Jatiya Sangsad member representing the Manikganj-2 constituency. [2]
Mannan was born on 15 December 1951. He has a bachelor's degree in civil engineering. [1]
Mannan is a director of Global Insurance Limited,Premier Leasing Limited,Delta Medical Centre,Delta Spinners Limited,and Mercantile Bank Limited. He had served a term as the President of Gulshan Club. He is a member of the board of governors of the Bangladesh Enterprise Institute. [3]
Mannan was elected to Parliament from Manikganj-2 as a candidate of Jatiya Party in 2008. [2] [4] [5] He was elected vice-chairperson of Premier Leasing and Finance Limited on 28 June 2009 and Mizanur Rahman Shelley was elected chairperson. [6] He was a member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Industries Ministry. [7]
While campaigning for the general elections in 2018 from Manikganj-2 constituency Mannan's motorcade was attacked allegedly by Awami League activists. [8] [9] Momtaz Begum,the Awami League candidate won the election. He received only 558 votes and came third in the election. [10]

Khaleda Zia is a Bangladeshi politician who served as the Prime Minister of Bangladesh from March 1991 to March 1996,and again from June 2001 to October 2006. She was the first female prime minister of Bangladesh. She is the widow of former President of Bangladesh Ziaur Rahman. The Jatiya Sangsad,often referred to simply as the Sangsad or JS and also known as the House of the Nation,is the supreme legislative body of Bangladesh. Moudud Ahmed was a Bangladeshi lawyer and politician. He was a standing committee member of Bangladesh Nationalist Party. Ahmed was elected as a Jatiya Sangsad member total five times from Noakhali-1 and Noakhali-5 constituencies.
Amena Begum,a former Member of Parliament of East Pakistan,was a Bangladeshi politician. She was instrumental in campaigning all over East Pakistan for the Six Point program of regional autonomy drafted by the Awami League,and on June 7,1966,organized the general strike along with Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury. This strike was observed throughout the then East Pakistan and was the first major indication that an independent Bangladesh was imminent. She later took over as president of the Jatiya League. She died in Dhaka on 7 April 1989.
Momtaz Begum is a Bangladeshi folk singer and the incumbent Jatiya Sangsad member representing the Manikganj-2 constituency since 2014 and Reserved Women's Seat-21 during 2009–2013. Ghulam Muhammed Quader,better known as GM Quader,is a Bangladeshi politician and the current chairperson of Jatiya Party. He is the incumbent Jatiya Sangsad member from the Lalmonirhat-3 constituency. He served as the Minister of Commerce and Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism from 2009 to 2014.
