The Biju Janata Dal is an Indian regional political party with great influence in the state of Odisha. It was founded by the former minister of mines and minerals of the Republic of India Naveen Patnaik on 26 December 1997 as a breakaway faction from the Janata Dal. The BJD is led by its founder as president of the party. The headquarters of the party is located in Forest Park, Bhubaneswar.

Naveen Patnaik is an Indian politician and writer serving as the current and 15 Chief Minister of Odisha representing the Hinjili Assembly constituency since 2000. He is the longest-serving chief minister of Odisha and as of 2023, one of the longest-serving chief ministers of any Indian state, holding the post for over two decades, and only the second Indian chief Minister after Pawan Chamling to win five consecutive terms as Chief Minister of an Indian state. He is the first president of the Biju Janata Dal since 1997. He served as the Union Minister of Steel and Mines from 1998 to 2000 and a member of the Lok Sabha from Aska from 1997 to 2000.
Bijayananda Patnaik was an Indian politician, aviator and businessman. He served as the 3rd Chief Minister of the State of Odisha from 1990 to 1995 and from 1961 to 1963. He was also the 14th Steel and mines and 1st Coal Union Minister of India from 1979 to 1980 and from 1977 to 1979 and a member of Lok Sabha from Kendrapara from 1977 to 1985. He was the father of Naveen Patnaik, who is the current CM of Odisha and currently the longest serving CM of Odisha.
Ravenshaw University, formerly known as Ravenshaw College, is a co-educational state university situated in Cuttack, Odisha on the eastern coast of India. Founded as Ravenshaw College in 1868, the institution became a university in 2006. The university has nine schools, thirty three academic departments and a student enrolment of nearly 8,000. It is one of the oldest educational institutes in the country and its history is synonymous with the history of modern Odisha.
Veer Surendra Sai Airport, also known as Jharsuguda Airport, is a domestic airport serving Jharsuguda, Odisha, India. The airport is located 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) north-east from the city centre. The airport is located in Durlaga, approximately 8.5 km (5.3 mi) from Jharsuguda Junction Railway Station and around 63 kilometres from Sambalpur city. The airport is named after the revolutionary Veer Surendra Sai and it is the second commercial airport in the state of Odisha. The airport caters to areas like districts of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundergarh, Bargarh and Debagarh.

The Bhubaneswar Metro is a rapid transit system proposed for Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Khordha, and Puri, in Odisha, India. In the first phase, a 30 km (19 mi) metro trunk route will be created from Trisulia near Cuttack to the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar. Plans are in place to eventually expand to Khordha and Puri.

Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Setu is a bridge over the river Kathajodi a distributary Mahanadi connecting Belleview Point near Judicial Academy in Cuttack to Trishulia. The length of the bridge is 2.88 km and is the longest bridge in Odisha.

Mo Bus is a public transport bus service run in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT), a special purpose vehicle (SPV), formed under Housing and Urban Development Department of the Government of Odisha operates a fleet of 390 buses to and from the capital. The buses currently operate in two phases, another phase would be established, covering all major destinations across the Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Puri, Rourkela. The service was inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik on 6 November 2018.

Subhash Chandra Singh is a social activist, people leader and policy maker from the State of Odisha, India. He is the first directly elected Mayor of Cuttack Municipal Corporation, acting Treasurer of Biju Janta Dal and General Secretary of Biju Sramika Samukhya. Previously he has also been member of Rajya Sabha from Odisha and has also served as National spokesperson for BJD. He was elected for Rajya Sabha on 24 March 2020. Being one of the most trusted senior leaders in BJD, he holds the position of Party Treasurer of Biju Janta Dal since 2016.
Odisha Naval Tata Hockey High Performance Centre (ONTH-HPC) is a professional field hockey institute located at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. It was launched on 13 August 2019 after Government of Odisha, Tata Steel & Tata Trusts joined hands to initiate a three-pronged program under the HPC banner of Government of Odisha. It is one of the 11 HPCs at the Kalinga Stadium which have been set up under the governance of Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Commissioner Cum Secy Sports Shri Vineel Krishna, who have been very influential in development of sports in the state.
Cuttack Netaji Bus Terminal or CNBT, is a hi-tech bus stand currently being built by the Odisha Bridge and Construction Corporation (OBCC) over 14.95 acres of land in Khannagar, Cuttack at a cost of ₹90.2 crores. A three-storey bus terminal building has been constructed over two acre land with numerous facilities in offing. The bus terminal is named after the illustrious son of Odisha, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
