The SLTEC Calaca Power Station is a 270-MW coal-fired power station in Calaca, Batangas
The power plant was a project of South Luzon Thermal Corp. (SLTEC), a company jointly owned by Trans-Asia Oil and Energy Development Corp. of the PHINMA Group and AC Energy (ACEN) of the Ayala Group. [1]
The first unit of SLTEC's coal power station in Calaca, Batangas became operational on April 24, 2015 [1] and the second one on February 25, 2016. [2]
By 2021, ACEN would acquire full stakes on SLTEC, acquiring the shares of Axia Power Holdings Philippines of Marubeni. [3] ACEN would completely divest it shares on SLTEC in 2022, marking its full transition to renewable energy. [4] This marks the commencement of the plant's early retirement by 2030. [5]

Wagner station consists of natural gas fueled Unit 1, nominally rated at 133 MWe, coal-fired Unit 2 rated at 136 MWe, coal-fired Unit 3 rated at 359 MWe, and oil-fired Unit 4 rated at 415 MWe. Talen Energy will convert the coal-fired units to alternative fuels by 2025.

Talen Energy is an independent power producer founded in 2015. It was formed when the competitive power generation business of PPL Corporation was spun off and immediately combined with competitive generation businesses owned by private equity firm Riverstone Holdings. Following these transactions, PPL shareholders owned 65% of Talen's common stock and affiliates of Riverstone owned 35%. As a condition for FERC approval Talen agreed to divest approximately 1,300 megawatts of generating assets in the PJM Interconnection Region to mitigate FERC's competitiveness concerns. On December 6, 2016, Riverstone Holdings completed the purchase of the remaining 65% of Talen's common stock, making it a privately owned company.
